I thought I would start a thread about 15 hours before the actual selection show for anyone who wanted to discuss or predict what they thought the committee would decide on things like: The 4 #1 seeds and who will make the tournament and who would be left out looking in.

There are 3 locks for #1 seeds: Gonzaga, Arizona, and Kansas.

With so many top teams losing in their conference tournaments. I think Auburn now may slip back in as a 1 seed, or honestly Tennessee very well could end up a 1 seed now if they win today. 
 

So I think we will see one SEC team as a 1 seed, and two SEC teams as 2 seeds. Or at worst there may be three SEC teams as 2 seeds if neither Auburn or Tennessee get that final 1 seed.

I honestly forgot about Purdue and how they are in the Big 10 finals. If they win today, they probably would be a 2 seed. Meaning UK possibly could be moved to a 3 seed. 

If UK was playing for a 1 seed yesterday, then it seems pretty simple to me that Tennessee is the last one seed if they win today.

UK was 5th in the rankings and more importantly 5th in NET rankings. That is why many said UK was playing for a 1 seed yesterday. While Tennessee was 9th in polls and 8th in NET rankings. Which is probably why there wasn’t as much talk about Tennessee getting to a 1 seed. However, with how other teams have lost and them beating UK a second time now. I do think they should be seriously considered for a 1 seed now.

Besides beating KY twice they also have wins over Auburn and Arizona.

I forgot about the Arizona win. So yeah as long as they win today. The four one seeds most likely will be or at least should be IMK Gonzaga, Arizona, Kansas, and Tennessee.

I’d be very surprised if Kentucky isn’t a 2 seed even with the loss yesterday. 

Lunardi has UK on the 2 line and UT on the 3 line even after UT just won.

To be fair, it may be the best case in anyone has. They beat a 1 seed Kansas to death in their own place. 

There’s no scenario where UK should have a higher seed than Tennessee.

I agree with you.

Its felt like the Selection Committee hasn't paid attention to the games on Sunday before, but I think if Purdue wins their current game for the Big 10 Title, you give them and Tennessee a 2 seed and UK drops to 3. Purdue loses, they are the 3 and UT plus UK are twos.

But the bracket may already be filled in.

There shouldn’t, but if history has shown us anything, conference tournament results aren’t often weighted that heavily. I remember in 2011 UK rolled through the SEC tournament, blowing out Florida in the Finals (beat them 2 out of 3 times), yet UF gets a 3 seed, and UK gets the toughest 4 seed draw.
