Refs called 3 technicals and from just viewing on computer, only one deserved.

I hate that for the region tourneys that officials are shipped in. 

 

Great game so glad we made the trip to the Ville!

One of those guys is historically tech-happy in big games. 

I remember watching Kaleb Glenn play in the KOB in 7th Grade. Dude is a stud.

This one definitely lived up to the hype. 

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a technical for celebrating in the championship game of a regional tournament after a team goes up by 4 with 8.9 seconds remaining. Ballard made both technical shots and then scored on the inbound to tie and send the game into overtime. Unless there is something else that happened that I’m not aware of I just don’t like seeing officials inject themselves into the possible outcome of the game like that. The tv announcers said it was whistled for “over celebrating”. 

For a ref to do something like that you can be sure he will never ever get a regional or state assignment in his career!

I originally thought the technical was for excessive celebration (whatever that might mean).  But Jason Frakes of the CJ later said the technical was against a specific player, Dez Lindsay of Male.  
 

From the article:  “But in the celebration, Male’s Dez Lindsay was assessed a technical foul for what Haworth described as an unsportsmanlike act.”

What a joke of a call!

It appeared that as he was walking toward the bench after the timeout was called, Dez Lindsey made an obscene gesture toward the Ballard student section.  That is what resulted in the technical.
