The first game both Campbell County & Bracken County played when the calendar turned to 2022 was against each other.  Adam Reed's Polar Bears eeked out a 75-73 win on that January night in Brooksville.  On Monday night at Holmes High School, and its rich 10th Region tradition, the Camels & Bears will tangle with a spot in the 10th Region Title Game on the line.

Aric Russell's club enters the semis on a 12-game winning streak and have pulverized opponents in the postseason by margins of 45, 43, & 32 points.  A three-headed monster of juniors pace the Camels: Ayden Hamilton (19.8 ppg), Eric Davie (17.4 ppg & 11.7 rpg), & Jake Gross (11.9 ppg, 205 3pt. FG's made).

Bracken County outlasted Harrison County in a double overtime thriller in Thursday's Quarters.  The Polar Bears are led by the Reed brothers, Blake & Cayden, who combine to score 46.5 ppg as a sophomore & freshman, respectively.  What the Bears lack in size they make up for in tenacity at both ends.

Will the Camels keep their hot streak alive or will the Polar Bears make their first Regional final since I don't know when, but brooksville probably knows and will tell us in this thread?

Love the Polar Bears, but it's March and Aric Russell coaching season is in full bloom.

Agreed.  Of course, I said the same thing about Harrison & Bracken. Camels by 4, but I hope I'm wrong.  What a treat it would be to see Bracken County make the Regional Championship.

I'm taking the Camels in the mildest of upsets (I guess?), something around 70-66.

The only upset, in my mind, is either one of these teams winning by double figures.

Davie will be a problem for Bracken's lack of size (he had 35 & 20 in January), but the Reeds will be a problem for Campbell (combined for 56 points on 18-36 shooting in January).

My head says Campbell, my heart says Bracken.

I like the Camels in this one by 8-12. I dont think Ayden Hamilton will be held to 8 or 9 points on 8 attempts this go around.  I think he will be more aggressive and ultimately be the difference.

Should be a good game regardless with the winner getting another shot at playing GRC. yikes

Can Bracken be discipled on defense to not allow open shots defending Campbell's inside out game?  I'm thinking Camels 72 Polar Bears 68

I would say can Bracken's pressure bother CC enough without getting in foul trouble to even up the size differnce.

The Reed brothers are dynamite, and fun to watch. I'm truly amazed by their talents. It's going to be fun to watch their high school careers the next few years.

I believe Davie is the difference in this one. Campbell by 5.

Bracken County has not made it to a region final since 1955.

I knew they'd won it in 55, but for some reason I was thinking they'd been to one other final since.

Would be a great story if they could do it.

The Camels will get fired up and win.
