Ryle must be impressing a lot of those posters since they are being picked #1 or #2 in 4 of the 5 predictions people posted in that thread.  Which makes the Sept 16th matchup at Ryle a HUGE game to watch.  Can't wait to settle it on the field.  Till then I got my Birds in the Top 3 of NKY along with Beechwood & Cov Cath (Call me Old School).

That is how I see things too along with Ryle being a team to watch. 

I'm very interested in Highlands vs Male scrimmage. With Highlands improved and Male reloading/rebuilding could be good game.

Highlands should definitely step up this year.  Last years class were hard workers but did not have the talent of the coming classes.  Last year the Sophs were not Varsity ready.  Another year with a full off-season, and a much better weight lifting season.  I expect faster and stronger bodies.  We will see but I am excited for the program moving forward.  I know a few holes that will need a few to step up but the skill sets should be good. I

Obvious special teams play or some type of return game.  Oline and RB play and lastly a few defensive starters.  I have all the confidence in Robinson and Dunn but you have to replace Surrey, Kissee and LaFrange those kids had stops and now replacing Ty as well.  I do expect big things from Matteoli and Giesler and of course Noon.  Bowden is a 3 year oline starter.  Again in my opinion a lot of younger guys played last year just needed a little more time under the belt.  I again expect them to contend to be top 3 in NKY.

No great return game either to shorten field.  So those were not holes but it made for the defense to be on the field way too much.  This team will go as far as the skilled players develop over the off-season.  In spring game a young soph throwing the ball.  I guess QB option 1&2 were playing baseball.  I just hope all report after dead period those around no what I mean.  I think Davis has been working hard on kicking leg and I expect young Roller to step up with Fenick in the LB group.

That would be Dalton Roller. Sat all season with a knee injury last year. Max Preps has him listed at 6' and 200 lbs. He will be a junior, I think.

Roller is going to be a great player. If not for hurting his knee last year, IMO he would have gotten a lot of playing time. Great work ethic and has a nasty streak... but he is a Roller so that shouldn't really surprise anyone.

I agree. I think it ends up being Bottom because of what Noon and Benke bring to the table all over the field. That is not necessarily a knock on Bottom, he is a solid player and I think will do well at QB. But if HHS is putting their best 11 out there (as they should), Benke and Noon need to be playing at all times. 

The Arbiter.com northern Kentucky officials page (entered by schools themselves for referee assignments) shows Highlands hosting Ryle in a scrimmage at Highlands on Tuesday, August 9th.

 

That doesn't seem right, but that's what it shows.

Birds had 7 on 7 against Anderson heard they did good and head to Alabama for a 7 on 7 tournament.
