  1. Yup, 3-C gonna be pretty blatant at this time if parents aren't changing jobs and they're buying a house further away in a different district. Who does that in the middle of a school year when they claimed Mason is where they wanted to be to finish their career?
  2. They're gonna buy a house and give up all ties to current one that quickly?
  3. Even if that were true (not covered by bylaws directly), they would still 1) Must enroll somewhere else THIS WEEK (due to the 20 days into semester bylaw) 2) have a waiver reason 3) have KHSAA be willing to expedite it 4) assuming Mason doesn't sit on paperwork I don't think all four of those are going to come together so quickly.
  4. Not counting snow days, today is day 19 of new semester (unsure if snow days count). So if they were gonna transfer somewhere else AND still have a valid exception, they would have go do it THIS WEEK SOURCE: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/2465/MCS/2949504/2023-2024_Parent__Calendar.pdf
  5. The kids aren't banned from Bracken or Mason. They could have stayed at Bracken. They can stay at Mason. And there's a difference between punishment/banishment and cessation. No program anymore (cessation of existing program) allows get out of jail free card. The program still playing without you does not. No difference than being academically or drug-test ineligible. Unless I missed it, getting kicked off a team doesn't meet transfer exceptions anywhere in the bylaws.
  6. Nope. Would violate 6-3-D-3 (Aka can't run away because you don't like a coach's or AD's decision)
  7. Can't go to School B to avoid punishment at School A, so not going elsewhere this season unless they actually move or could claim bullying or something
  8. And now the mom is going after Deron Feldhaus (played for 92 UK vs. Duke, assistant at Mason, son plays (played?) with Reeds
  9. Tim Mattingly stepping down as head coach at Central Hardin. He is retiring from teaching in May or June (or whenever 2023-2024 school year officially ends based on weather)
  10. Many moons ago, I watched Fort Knox get beat by over 100. And it could have been worse. Fort Knox would get beat by .500 freshmen teams and Bethlehem is a veteran All A favorite (along with O'Cath) with an All American (Macy, who didn't really pad her stats). Fort Knox needs to drop out of the district and pick its own sked (like Grace James is doing). A mediocre (by Etown standards) Elizabethtown team hammered Knox by 80.
  11. There are 5 KHSAA preseason top 25s that I saw: CJ coaches, HL coaches, KSR, Nations Elite and KY HS Sports Zone 41 teams made at least 1 T25 appearance
  12. How does it remind you though? I share rankings so others can see and be aware. I don't do my own for the sake of a like or tweet or share or reply or repost. Most of what I post has NOTHING to do with opinions (more often, I'm sharing rankings or offers or commits or other news)
  13. I trust Frakes too. I'm just saying he is quoting coaches' votes and it's not his personal preseason ranking of every region.
  14. Jason does NOT rank them himself. He even shows how many first-place votes teams got.
  15. I don't rank anybody. I share rankings. What are you referring to?
  16. This was emailed out to coaches on Tuesday. I cleaned it up and combined it into one page.
  17. If you live in A and attend B and play at B, your address is now locked into B. Can't have one address be eligible at multiple schools instantly. Unless you meet an exception (which does not apply here because they didn't have to leave Bracken, they chose to). If dad had been FIRED, it could be different. Fun fact: KHSAA doesn't say much in handbook and bylaws about district boundaries. Resigning from a stipend (NOT main source of income) sports job does NOT meet exceptions.
  18. JCPS problem in a nutshell: 48 percent of its enrollment does NOT attend the school closest to the student YET JCPS is on the hook (time wise, staff wise, expense wise, mileage wise) to get kid to chosen school in a timely fashion (can't compare to a workplace like Amazon warehouse, in which people leave at different times and provide own transportation). Hardin is not small. Top 10 in KY in both enrollment and size. If you choose to "open enroll" in a school that's NOT closest to you, you CAN go there BUT no bus for you. Lots of KY districts operate under this principle. Bigger metro districts nationally do too (or use subway in NYC or EL in Chicago). And obviously all the JCPS athletes found ways to still get to practice and games without the morning school bus.
  19. Here's what I've compiled. I stress very UN-official as there is no central instant update portal for scrimmages unlike regular season and postseason.
  20. Pool pairings for Saturday's massive 53-school, 61-squad (8 schools have 2 squads entered) 7v7 at EKU
  21. So on Friday and Saturday, Stoner was STILL listed as varsity football coach on KHSAA directory for Manual. That changed today (Monday): https://khsaa.org/general/resources/member-school-directory/?school_id=76
  22. I've been contacted about this too. Not sure what happened, but:
  23. Way *UN-official*, but here is the latest statewide 2023 composite preseason scrimmage schedule for KHSAA programs Please add any additions or corrections, I want this to be correct. Scrimmages start less than 4 weeks (Thursday, August 3rd) from today (Friday, July 7th)
  24. I'm sure Mayfield wants off October 6th for fall break, but both South Warren and Mayfield are open 10.6 and both need another game.
