2023 Manual Crimsons

Recommended Posts

The Crimsons fell by a single point to eventual big school state champion Bullitt East in last year's playoffs. The Manual faithful have to feel good about Donnie Stoner's first season at the helm and the promise of what's to come. It all starts with star ball carrier Zah'Ron Washburn, who churned out nearly 1,400 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior. Both quarterbacks who saw the field in meaningful game action also return.

Graduation was unkind to the defense, which will undergo a near complete overhaul after losing ten of its top eleven tacklers. Manual's staff will have to work some magic there, but they have a well earned rep for building defenses that range from good to great.

Only four games scheduled for Manual Stadium this year, but it's a bruising home slate, as you'll see below.

Aug 18 vs. Central
Aug 25 at Central Hardin
Sep 1 at Taft (OH)
Sep 8 at Eastern
Sep 15 vs. South Warren
Sep 22 at Christian Academy of Louisville
Sep 29 - BYE
Oct 6 vs. Saint Xavier
Oct 13 at Pleasure Ridge Park
Oct 20 at Meade County
Oct 27 vs. Male

How often does one that gets asked to step away get asked to step back in? I'd think not to often but will have to see how this plays out.

Zero point zero.

From the above CJ article:

While the spokesperson told the CJ via email Stoner was removed "per JCPS policies and procedures," no additional information was immediately provided related to Stoner's removal.

Yeah, this is an interesting story. It could be a big deal or it could be on the other side of the spectrum and be a teaching certification issue. I’ve seen where coaches don’t complete certain teaching requirements and have to be removed.
