Chris Mack?

Chris Mack lacks the personality it takes to be successful here, in my opinion.

I agree with this. I’m also of the belief that the talent level was never very good. I consider myself a college basketball fan and can’t name a single player. If a Kentucky fan can’t name a single player at Louisville (or vice versa), then the talent level probably isn’t good enough to be a consistent winner.

  • I’d say they are working on a mutual separation agreement.

  • Bruce Pearl and Kenny Payne are the top two at the moment. Pearl would immediately inject a spark back into the program and he can obviously coach. He's a big personality and you need that here.

Friendly doesn’t matter to me. But I kinda get the feeling he doesn’t enjoy being THE attraction in town. You’re #1 in this job, all the eyes and all the pressure are on you at all times.

Louisville and Kentucky are premier, attention getting jobs in a state that lacks a higher level athletic program. The focus is always going to be white-hot and the most successful coaches at both have embraced that (albeit not always in the exact same way). You absolutely can not shy away from it.

Agree completely. When UK hired Cal I knew he was a perfect fit. Louisville needs that kind of personality again.

Auburn fans are trying to convince anyone who’ll listen on Twitter that Louisville isn’t a better gig than Auburn. ?

Well they are delusional, they also acted like they won the national title in the middle of January.

I hate to say it, but Pearl would be the Perfect hire for the Cards. It'll take some cash to pry him out of Auburn but he'd be my only option until he said no at least three times.

Kenny Payne time.

Maybe as the back-up plan.

Bruce Pearl has to be option 1. Make him say no.

He’d do really well there.

Make it to where money isn’t a factor and make him say no.

He’ll get an interview, but he won’t be the guy.

Personality as a head coach doesn’t win games, players do win games and Mack has had no players while there to win consistently with, and he will have absolutely no problem getting another really good coaching position in D1.

Russ Smith was a 2-star recruit and now his jersey is hanging in the rafters at the Yum Center. There’s not one player that has developed under Mack.
