I still think we laid off the gas too soon and stopped putting pressure on the Clemson QB too early which allowed them get a glimpse of of light. When Clemson scored late to make it 28-20 I got that bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I really hope not blowing one for once means we have turned a corner and put whatever curse we had on us behind us.

 

What was with the horendous officiating in the 2nd Quarter? I had to make a call to the oldrambler to make sure I was not the only one seeing an officiating crew completely lost. :confused:

 

Anyway this is a great day to be a Kentucky football fan. We are heading in the right direction and I could not be more excited for next season.

Worst announcers I have seen this year. It seems like the quality of tv commentary has been on a downward spiral the past few years though. At one point near the end of this game they asked one of the commentators who they thought would win Rose Bowl. His response: Ohio State. They then had to tell him that Michigan and USC were playing in the Rose Bowl.

 

I caught that. This crew did the BYU bowl game and were equally as horrendous. The same guy called Oregon Ducks the Beavers two or three times during the Las Vegas Bowl. Gilmore has actually done college football for ESPN for a while and it's not until this year, with that other big guy in the booth, he has really not been good. He used to a lot of mid-major games for ESPN and the Friday night games the last few seasons and I always thought he was decent.

 

Before the game Gilmore was totally trashing UK and continued to do so through the middle of the third. Lost a lot of respect for him this afternoon not giving UK any respect at all. I'm not sure what his motivation was in crapping all over UK's talent.

 

As for in studio- Lou Holtz is just babbling at this point. Give him credit for picking Kentucky in the pre-game, but I cannot decipher about 55% of what he says anymore. Anyone ever here Dan Patrick do his Lou Holtz impression? Good stuff.

Next season could be very special. I think there were only eight Seniors that played in todays game.

Just got back in from the game and it was AWESOME! Very fun atmosphere, very great game to watch. UK fans dominated the stadium and once UK went up the Clemson fans weren't very vocal at all. About the only thing they talked about was their desire to kill their kicker. UK came up huge today and it was a pleasure to be at the first bowl win for the Cats in 22 years!

Greetings from Nashville. Cat fans were at least 8-1 to Clemson fans. My hotel is Clemson's booster hq, it was all orange. They were talking a lot of trash this morning, saying they were going to walk all over UK. Funny thing how they're nowhere to be found now. I could tell at the Catwalk that the boys were ready to play. Great job by the coaches in game planning and prep, and the players for execution.

 

Was that a crazy 2nd quarter or what?

The announcers were terrible, by the way. Any UK fans that started to worry about karma when the one announcer said the game was over when Clemson still had a fairly legitimate chance to tie?

 

 

 

I was yelling "ShUT UP!!!!!! You haven't watched enough UK games in your lifetime to have the right to make that statement".

A few thoughts:

 

1) The fake punt call from on their own end of the field? Wow.

2) Nice throw and catch by Woodson and Ford.

3) Lindley's interception in the end zone was one heck of a catch.

4) How about big Micah Johnson plowing into the end zone. I would not want to step in front of him.

I hope UK does this more. Johnson was one of the leading rushers in the state his jr. and sr. years at Ft. Campbell so why not let a 278 lb. guy run the ball on short yardage?
