Make-up your High School's greatest football team ever?

Featured Replies

I am just not big on personal attacks against a person from a family I respect a great deal.

Jeez 92Bird, nobody was personally attacking Big Zeke. We were simply stating he was definitely not as good of a HS player as he became in college. He would probably tell you himself that his HS career wasn't as good as he would have liked it to be, or could have been. There has simply been many more HHS lineman that had better HS careers, including "Little Zeke". Don't take our opinions so personal. I, for one, couldn't be any prouder of him or Marty for making it in the NFL. They both showed what hard work and love of the sport can do for you if you are dedicated enough:ylsuper:

Your last two sentences speaks volumes of your character. That is sometimes lacking in posters on here. I am sorry I took those as personal attacks on one of the finest human beings I know.

These posts got me thinking. No one would ever guess the best defensive player on the 96 state championship team. He was the shut down guy for the football team and the basketball team but got little to no recognition. David Schulkers...

I'll agree with that statement....

Anyone have some from Breathitt?

Could anyone thing of one for Raceland High .. i know of a few who would be on there Micheal Sammons, Scott Speaks, and of course Mr. Ohio State Aarron Pettrey ?? a few would have to on there from this past years team also

I didn't know Joe Dillow went to Russell. Is it the same Joe Dillow who coached at Ashland and whom I saw this evening at the Russell vs Ashland game with a Tomcat shirt on. That Joe Dillow?

This is with all due respect because I know that Highlands was very good that year, but I noticed you have a lot of players from the '04 team on the defense. I remember watching the semi-finals game at Bell County that year, and Shawn Robbins ran the ball all over the Highlands defense. If Robbins hadn't fumbled late in the game, Bell would have won. By the way, didn't that team go 1-14 with a state championship...lol. Just kidding.

I'm not knocking or disrespecting that team. More so, I am crediting Bell Co. and Robbins.

Just wondering, where did Everson end up playing in college?

Same one. Should be ashamed for wearing that shirt though.

Bo McDaniels was pretty good.

Mike Stewart (I think that was his name) could FLY!!! Stewart and Newman were a nasty 1/2 punch!

Bostick was tough too!

I'd think Grizzle would have too be in there somewhere along with Aaron Pettrey.

Robbins was a very good runningback, you are right about that. I don't want to bring up field conditions, but you have to wonder how that game would have turned out if the two teams were playing on steady ground, like Highlands was used to (field turf). That was the only time that year that Highlands played on a muddy field. And I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure that Bell played on that kind of field all year long.

Oh, and it is 2-13, thank you very much. :D

Just wondering, where did Everson end up playing in college?

He went to Centre, but then dropped out

Bo McDaniels was pretty good.

Mike Stewart (I think that was his name) could FLY!!! Stewart and Newman were a nasty 1/2 punch!

Bostick was tough too!

I'd think Grizzle would have too be in there somewhere along with Aaron Pettrey.
