Muncy must have been one heck of a qb. Drew Ramey was the qb the first year I started at Mason and he was really impressive. I went to Centre with Mike Couchot and he was pretty good also. Gabbard was also a very good qb.

There have been some very good QBs. Ramey, Gabbard, Couchot, Watkins, Hillman. I can only speak from the late 70s on. Hillman was a High scholl All American in 1972. Muncy was the QB in 1977 and 78. The 78 team won Russell's first state title and the 77 team lost to Highlands 13-7 in the state semi finals.

Was he about 145 lbs?

There have been some very good QBs. Ramey, Gabbard, Couchot, Watkins, Hillman. I can only speak from the late 70s on. Hillman was a High scholl All American in 1972. Muncy was the QB in 1977 and 78. The 78 team won Russell's first state title and the 77 team lost to Highlands 13-7 in the state semi finals.

Sam Hutchinson was tough too! Anytime you got a QB running the ball at about 230 in a backfield that was huge then you have a problem.

Robert Brown and Billy Swimm are 2 more that were nice players at Russell. I think it is Swimm I'm thinking of that was a really good WR. I know he played DB but it seems like they had a good WR in the 90's that was flat out tough to play.

He was listed at 5'10", 190lbs on the 1922 University of Michigan roster. He played center at Male and was the Captain of the 1920 team.

The reciever was probably Eric Day. He is the only Russell player to ever have 1,000 yards recieving in a season. He was a RB though. In 98 he had 782 yards rushing and 1,097 yards recieving.

Super Shamrocks, Try Tony Tricase(SP) at DG AllState 1St team. While Vince was great Andy Murray was twice the fullback. Jim Cambell made it to the pro level at TE so I would have to list him also. If you are going to list Hennessy I am not sure you listed the right one "dad was the Man". these are just some off the top of my head.

Whew!!! I do not think there is another school in the state that can match that lineup. You have a lot to be proud of. Another feather in Male's cap is, I believe, the only 3 time first team all-stater's from Jefferson County attended Male (twice: Montrell Jones and Michael Bush). BTW, if memory serves, Othello Brim went to Western Kentucky where he started along with Romeo Crennel, giving Western what I considered the all-Shakespeare team.

Super Shamrocks, Try Tony Tricase(SP) at DG AllState 1St team. While Vince was great Andy Murray was twice the fullback. Jim Cambell made it to the pro level at TE so I would have to list him also. Mark Bartlett - absolutely HUGE guy from the 60s...he gave Mo Moorman (X) all he could handle and then some

No disrespect to Otis (was he all-state in both football and soccer?), but Heinz-Williams and both Tylackas (sp.?) were as good or better. Funny thing is, I don't remember Rob Bironas playing for the Rocks(?)

And shouldn't the older Brohm brothers at least get honorable mention recognition?

One that got away from me Joe Bryant at DB, most say the best ever.

Family Tradition I will add Chuck Kyle at linebacker and Tim Racke at defensive back. Both were very fine players on Purdue Bowl teams. I think Kyle was named to an "All-Bowl" team after all of the bowl games were played. I will also add Tom Rohrer, but that is really going back a long way. he was a super fast running back.
