No way. Neither one was even the best lineman on either side of the ball, let alone on their teams. Zeke didn't even start most of his career in hs.

:thumb: You took the words right out of my mouth. I can comfirm that Zeke hardly played his senior year. Can you say not very motivated and lazy!!!!!!

Tenn, UK, Marshall, Morehead, Georgetown, Centre, Army, Western and a couple of more.

Hey where is our Kicker/Punter?:jump:

Didn't Fornash start in front of Zeke?????

Yes he did!!!!! It what they always say in College ball. Give us the size and we will make you a football player. Unlv proved to be right!!!! I think Zeke checked in at 6'-7" 300 plus pounds in High School.

I have to go with Zig as best player ever @ running back. He made the others look like little boys when he played. Great career in HS considering he only played about half the snaps the Everson kid did. Great college career also. Would have been great NFL player also had they had arthro back then!

Adam Brown needs consideration at RB and Nick Rouse at QB.

Newport's Bobby Meyer 88' was the best Defensive back I ever played against in fact he picked me off 3 times in one game. INcredible athlete and even better shortstop in Baseball.

That is quite the list of some of the best Birds ever to don the equiptment. Thanks for the history lesson. What about Rich Maile? Was he decent in football?

Didn't he go to UC for baseball?

Your right gryche11 the list is a walk down memory lane at HHS. How about Mark "Dusty" Cottingham? He played LB on the 81 and 82 State Championship teams. If I'm not mistaken he only weighted about 160lbs and was absolutely fearless.

I believe Schlarman was the best Defensive lineman to ever play at Highlands.....He is the best d lineman I have seen in High School in the state of Kentucky since 1990.

David Hoffman of Highlands was a pretty good offensive lineman from Highlands. i think he was a 86 grad. He went to University of Indianapolis and had a nice career there.

Matt Hoffman was a good corner who won the national championship at Georgetown. He started for that team and deserves recognition.

The late, great Bishop David Falcons (football 1962-1983). An interesting trivia tidbit: David Bradshaw was selected all-district QB over.......Phil Simms!

Bishop David was known for staunch defense. Bishop David merged with Angela Merici to become Holy Cross High School in 1984.
