I wouldn't be so sure of that.  It didn't help TCU the first year of the playoff system.

Cincy is in a tough spot because they have to win out and they have to blow everyone out.  There will be lots of interests hoping they either stumble OR have a close game against someone.  Any excuse to keep them out of the playoff for one-loss teams in other conferences.

I hope they make it though.  I'm so tired of the playoff including only a handful of the same teams over and over.

They'll get leapfrogged, just my opinion. The CFP is a joke.

Even if they are in the first CFP rankings, there are plenty of opportunities for them to miss it. They need to dominate all their opponents and still get help.

Absolutely. They took care of business on Saturday, but will need seven more of those efforts and for Notre Dame to kick butt here on.

The SMU game can help UC. If SMU is still undefeated when they play UC late November, SMU will probably be ranked in the top 15. That game will get hype. If UC manhandles SMU, that should reinforce UC's playoff status.

That is why I made my initial comment.   They are going to have to play every game like the UCF game.  Over fast, win big and thoroughly uninteresting.

If they are in the top 4 of the initial CFP rankings, continue to win fairly convincingly, stay undefeated and still don't make the CFP, then the CFP should just fold up shop and stop the charade that anyone outside of the power 5 ever has a shot.
