Clock should have stopped on the first down until the chains move and set the ball for play. Then they roll the clock. That didn’t happen so officials had to reset the clock

That is what I had as well.  Clock ran this creating a reset which also messed up designed play call.  Again, the officiating was bad.  It does not take away from Dixie executing.   They did not turn the ball over and made the right decisions congrats on the win!  Birds I happen to see Cam Giesler run over players in the JV game; I sure hope things workout.  Griffin Richter back in action will help as well.  
 

Like mentioned earlier Benke and Dunn back this week.  They are important parts.  Young talent need to find away.  A few go both ways and they do not like sitting any series and will play through nagging injuries.  I expect a new beginning.  Districts are now!  Go Birds!

It looks to me like the Highlands players handled themselves with class in defeat.  Their coaches not so much.  Buffoons might be inappropriate but they certainly were out of line.  If I'm the AD and/or principal I'm calling them all in for a sit down.  Quitting before the final snap?  Waving your players off the field before the game is over?  I understand the frustration but these coaches are supposed to teach the players how to handle victory and defeat.  Again, hats off to the Highlands players who appeared to be the only adults on that sideline.

LOL Classic. So Highlands has a player ejected because he removes his helmet thinking the game was over while Dixie runs a play with no Officials in sight. 4 of them were on the Sideline with Coach Sphire discussing the outcome for the previous play. So Highlands pulls or reigns their kids in until order is restored but still went out for the final play and it's the Coaches fault? Laughable. You might want to dig into why 4 officials dropped the ball and made a terrible mistake by leaving the ball there to be snapped or didn't have someone holding until the officials returned to the field. Don't leave out facts.

I only know what I saw.  At around the 2:45:50 mark the coaches are waving their players off the field.  It certainly didn't look like they were reigning them in.  They were walking off the field.  And for several minutes there are at least 5 coaches on the field.  Coaches need to do a better job.  My opinion, obviously you saw it differently.

Well if we are going to do facts and I agree with everything you say except about leaving some info out about said player.  The video is the proof that he drilled a player when Dixie knelt the ball, then ripped his helmet off and was yelling and then came to the sideline and threw his helmet.  Yes the officials seemed to screw up pretty bad allowing the play to be run.  It shouldn't take 4 officials to explain what happened.  Then again when coaches are running on the field......

All told that crew lost control.  No way coaches should be running out on the field without immediate discipline.  No way you allow a ball to be snapped.  No way you botch the management of the game the last 2 minutes.  They did all three which led to the mess.

Go to 2:43:15. The player that intercepted the ball was never tackled. He ran up the field holding the ball over his head. It looks like the officials blew the play dead after the INT. I can see why the Highlands coaches were telling players to go get the ball but it looks like the play was blown dead, and that is the end of it when the officials blow the whistle.

That was about as clearly blown dead as I've ever seen.

The question was not if it had been blown dead.  Question was should it have been blown dead.  That appears to be what Highlands coaches were questioning.

In looking at it again, the player who intercepts lands and bends down.  I don't think his knee touched but the ref could have seen it differently and blew the play dead.

That's my guess as well.

Here is the best way I can respond based upon the video footage because my seats were too far away from that end.  Ball was intercepted by Dixie.  Video shows that knee never hit ground.  On Saturday several said high school can return interception out of endzone unlike a kickoff or missed field goal that crosses the goal line.

Given these facts I would say yes the referee call was incorrect by blowing it dead.  The only way it could have benefitted Highlands was if the whistle was not blown and the ball was rolling on the field after the Dixie kid was celebrating.  
 

The hoopla at end of game was a direct result of the officiating crew losing control of the situation.  Was not aware that a Highlands kid was ejected until today and I would certainly be arguing that with the state.

At end of the day, it really does not matter as the most important games for both teams are on the horizon.

Unfortunately you can’t appeal an injection as it’s a judgment call. The only appeal for an injection is if they ejected the wrong player. That is my understanding of how it works.
