Wibberly was as good as advertised at tackle.  Like either #8 or#9 comes hard from the DE.  Landers had a good game.  It was a good matchup.  For the Birds I believe Benke comes back and hopefully another one if my birdies are right.  We need to get healthy districts start a new season and 5A is going to be a crapshoot.

I didn’t even know what had happened until we got back into the locker room. I saw everyone running down there. It was a crazy scene.

Bottom line - Beechwood won the game and if Murray had been given the win by the refs on that play, that title would always be tainted. The team that truly won the game got the title.

No more tainted than the ref calling pass inference in Mayfield / Somerset game.

I thought about that when I wrote that post. The difference is that is a judgment call by an official. The Beechwood play is something that happened after the game was over and really had nothing to do with play on the field between the two teams.

It is a great action shot from the game, why not post it?

This game sounds like a complete cluster if the whistle had blowed the play dead then it wouldn’t have mattered if they recovered the ball or not but if the whistle hadn’t been blowed and the coach grabbed the ball off the field that’s some Friday Night Lights truly Bush league stuff and he should’ve been kicked off the field in my opinion.

A lot of bad calls were made worst I’ve seen in awhile but overall good game.

Here is a link to the last play. 

Go to 2:43:15. The player that intercepted the ball was never tackled. He ran up the field holding the ball over his head. It looks like the officials blew the play dead after the INT. I can see why the Highlands coaches were telling players to go get the ball but it looks like the play was blown dead, and that is the end of it when the officials blow the whistle.
