From what I gather is the last interception in end zone, Dixie player came out of end zone as to return it and keep playing, whether he was intending to do that or not, he did and then proceeded to let ball go causing a fumble and live ball. Which in turn Dixie coach saw happening and smartly grabbed ball to keep Highlands players from recovering. Kinda of Beechwood-esque when Greg Hergott threw ball up before being dead in State game and stealing one for Murray (I think). 
 

And the refs.......

You have no clue what you are talking when it comes to the Beechwood vs Murray 1994 Class A State Title game! I mean you aren’t even close what so ever! The whistle blew that is when Greg threw the ball up in the air! We just became the first school in Ky history to win 4 straight state titles! He was very excited that is why he threw the ball up in the air after not one but two whistles had blown the play dead. Game over we won Murray lost! So if anyone would have had the title game stolen it would have been us!

Sounds like you have been hanging out at the wrong pub. 

Officiating was questionable both ways, but that’s kind of the norm nowadays unfortunately.

Dixie’s offensive line dominated the first half as they were able to run the ball effectively. With 4:00 left in the half, they should’ve stuck with the run game, but ended up passing and barely using any clock. Highlands got the ball and scored to make it 21-14 going into half instead of 21-7 or even 28-7.

Dixie’s secondary struggled with two blown coverages for TDs and then a few pass interference calls. Not sure why Holbert came in for Hirth, but he struggled in pass coverage, and he doesn’t like to tackle people (at least that’s what it looked like in the stands).

The called forward pass at the end was a forward pass, just barely. It happened right in front of us. 

The interception in the endzone, the official signaled the play dead, and that’s when the Dixie player came out of the endzone. When he tossed the ball, I immediately thought of the BW finals game as I didn’t hear a whistle in all the commotion, but did see the official signaling the play dead. The Dixie coach was smart to quickly pick the ball up and hand it to the official.

Not sure why the lined up and snapped the ball at the end with the officials still talking to the Highlands coach. That situation was odd as there was an official standing there, so not sure why he didn’t stop it before the snap.

In the end, this was a much needed win for Dixie after losses to Cooper and CCH. I don’t recall seeing anything other than cramping issues from either team, so it seems like both teams came away injury free.

Who would that be? There was a lot Beechwood guys there last Friday after the Cov Cath game. If  Cath had won I’m sure there would be more there.

They were Thespians in town for a gig.

The biggest question on my mind, is how do you not clock it with 10-12 seconds left. Set up for 2 plays at the endzone? 

Class, Robinson, Noon, Matteoli had big nights for the Birds. 

Landers, Rohlmam, Smith, Rice had big nights for the Colonels.  Wibberly is a man!

Heck Geno came in at the game in a blue shirt so everyone was giving him a hard time so he went and bought a Beechwood shirt! Haha 

Halpin sighting tonight.  Have to target TE.  Lloyd had a great game for Highlands.  Congrats George King big game in spot duty.   I like when kids step up.

I was standing behind the end zone with Assistant Commissioner Boucher at the end of the Beechwood-Murray game. There was an inadvertent whistle blown on a loose ball play(I was officiating second game). Larry looked at me and said "I think we have a problem"...I replied "no Larry, I think YOU have a problem. And that's when I headed to get ready. Needless to say pre-game conference and meeting were as Sgt. Schultz would say veeeeery interesting.
