That was a fun game to watch! The only thing to say is this district in 5A is going to be probably the most exciting playoff games in the state to watch in the first two rounds this year. 

Cooper is good team and this is good hard fought win by Covington Catholic.

On our end, I though Pitzer played better than what his stats showed. His arm is a little more live than I expected and I thought he was accurate on short and medium routes (I counted at minimum 3 drops tonight). Really high ceiling for him if he can keep developing. 

We need to get more explosive plays offensively. It’s tough to put together 10-12 play drives at any level, let alone high school, to go score TD’s. Pitzer just missed Benke and Boydston a couple times on deep posts and we need those to a hit a couple of those if we’re going to beat Highlands and Ryle. 

Last thought is Preston Agee is such a good high school player. He plays so hard on both sides of the ball and was the reason we won last night.

I was glad to see Eddie try Pitzer, gotta try something. I don't know that I saw even 1 true drop, there were a couple where kids were diving/jumping for off target throws and didn't make the catch, but don't really consider those drops. Offense could make it easier on Pitzer and throw some intermediate routes to the TE's. Seems like 95% of our throws are either bubble screens or 30/40 yards down the field and into double/triple coverage while there are open receivers underneath. I'd like to see them really let Pitzer open it up against Boone to get comfortable. I think we can win all our games remaining outside Ryle as is, but need to complete more than 5 passes a game to make a playoff run. Always good to get a win! Even if it's ugly. 

Wow!  I'm going to have to start going to high school games again.  I'm missing a lot of good football in the area this year.

Well said. These aren't the type of scores CCH is accustomed to in the last 6 years, but a win is a win.

That doesn't surprise me in the least. Borchers wouldn't have them around (or at least on the field) if they weren't. 

If CovCath plans on making a run it better find an offense. QB keep is not an offense. Cooper put 9 in the box and never adjusted to 4 wide.  Daring CovCath to throw. Freddy D will destroy that play if that’s what the playbook remains. No creativity and a very predictable play sheet as of now.  Holtz kid has to play defense if he is not playing on offense.  Was one of the better defensive players last year.  He was not mentioned but twice Friday night.  Played 2 snaps and believe he had 2 turnovers.  Not sure what’s happening but someone needs to figure it out.
