How many times was Ohio State stopped deep in Duck's territory on 4th down?

If they convert just one of those, they at least get this game to OT...maybe win in regulation. If they convert two of them, they win going away.

For as bad as the D looked...this was a very winnable game. The offense is dynamic enough to put up huge numbers on every team on the schedule. 

OSU isn't eliminated, but their lack of possible marquee wins won't help them. If dominant wins pile up towards the end of the year, they will be right in the thick of things.

They have nearly 3 months to get their D figured out.

For the record, this has to be first time in Ohio State football history that the offense gained 600 or more yards and had 30 or more first downs - and lost the game. What does that tell you about the defense? After just two games, and 66 points allowed, it appears this could be one of the worst defenses in school history.

Kinda shocking with those numbers that they could only score 4 Touchdowns. Defense struggled, but there is no way that they shouldn't have scored at least 42 points today.

What happens is Ibrahim doesn’t get hurt for Minny?  I’ve sold all my OSU stock this year.

Agreed! Definitely would be wrong to act like this one loss eliminates them. All this loss means is if they have no room for error now and must win out.

Honestly the 600 yards offense and only 28 points is what hurt the most. The defense would still be an issue, but no reason to only score 28 points when you have that many yards offense. Very easily could have won this game still, if the offense can punch it in rather than just getting yards.

I think we have wholesale problems.  Let’s see what happens with Kerry Coombs this week.  Buckeye fans want Marcus Freeman from ND and UC, who literally just moved his family to South Bend.  We’re still hurting from Fickell and Jeff Hafley leaving.  THIS is the difference between an OSU and Alabama they reload with coaches, we don’t.

Im the one who also said Clemson wasn’t eliminated with that one loss. 

Niether Clemson or OSU are out of the playoffs due to these early losses.  The problem is, getting into the playoffs is no longer in their hands, they need help from other teams to lose to allow one or both of them to climb back into the top 4. 

Alabama could very possibly give both Georgia and Texas A&M losses to bump one or both out of the top 4.  OU could possibly run the table so that doesn't help OSU and Clemson.  Notre Dame looks susceptible to a loss or two this year.  Their are numerous possibilities for either (or both?) to get into the playoffs, they just cannot lose again or even have close wins.

There must be a reason. Freeman's D at Notre Dame has been a little suspect so far.

Texas A&M struggling with Colorado.

A fact about the Buckeye defense so far this year. It is the first time in OSU's story history that they have gave 30+ points in the first two games to start a season.

DC Kerry Coombs said he is comfortable with Ohio State’s defensive scheme, but said “ We have to do things differently.”
