I said it last week, the addition of Cabrera did not sit good with this team.  Made some veterans mad, and the youngsters.  He is 0-19, and still getting to play.  We were 12 games over when they acquired him.  We did not do anything to improve our team, at the deadline other than get some bullpen help.  Honestly does not matter anyway as you get Mad Man Max first game who is like 6-0  with a .89 era since joining the Dodgers.  It would be a huge upset to stop them from repeating.  But lets be honest, they knew what they needed and went out and got it.  Two of the best players in baseball to join their team, and when they win the whole thing it will be worth it.  If Bell is back managing this team it will be a disaster next year. Probably cost us Castellanos as well.

Couldn’t agree more, Bell has to go, he was in over his head when he got the job and he’s not gotten any better, evidently he’s not going to, time to go and send a BUNCH of these guys with him!!

I guess I need a life.  My post game routine after a loss now is to log into BGP and look for the latest post from @16thBBall Fanin the Reds thread.

Castillo was dominating tonight, outstanding performance!!!  The starting pitching has been good enough all year to be close to the Brewers but the offense and bullpen have kept them from it.

The offensive struggles since Winker went down would have allowed the Brewers to pull away anyway, but I point fingers directly at the bullpen all day long. The bullpen and the little effort or urgency to fix the bullpen ruined the year.

Completely agree!!

This team has a lot of warts and for a long time they were able to cover them but. Ow lost if not all are exposed.  Starting pitching has been pretty solid but needs to be more pitch efficient.  Cannot be at 100 pitches in 5th or 6th inning.  Rookies have performed really well.  Castellanos and Votto have had very good seasons and each will get some MVP votes.  Naquin has been good as his Farmer for the most part.  Problem is the other 2 or 3 positions have struggled and there is no depth.  Cannot be in a race for a playoff spot and sending three guys to the plate batting under .200 and one of them is not the pitcher.

With that said, the Reds need to move on from Moustakas, Aquino and Shogo but only if you can sign Castellanos for 4 or 5 years.  I would think very seriously about moving Sonny Gray.  Like the bullpen pieces they added except for Wilson.  Garrett and Suarez on short leash going into spring training.

Again I contend that stats accrued while playing Pittsburgh, inflating individual and team stats, should not count.
