Plus not going to reward A&M for not playing in their title game, while Notre Dame only lost was in the title game against a top 3 team. So I think it would take a complete beat down by 30 or more for Notre Dame not to get in, and even then they still may.

December 14, 20205 yr If we are talking about ND losing to Clemson, I'm not sure there's a point spread that would cause them to get left out... I understand biases towards recent results, but I just don't see any scenario where ND doesn't get in. The only way I see that happening is if Clemson boat races them AND say Ian Book suffers an injury that would keep him out of the playoff.

UC made calls to Pitt, Louisville, Notre Dame, West Va, and Iowa State (among others) when their schedule fell apart. None were interested in adding the Bearcats. BYU would have been added to the schedule the week of the Temple cancellation but UC was dealing with a ridiculous amount of Covid issues themselves following their return from UCF.
