I logged onto BGP, and I seldom get a few minutes lately, but excitedly headed into the Football Forum to catch up on some opinions of this weekend's great games.

I see CovCath and the Purples have 12 pages of predictions -- I was giddy.  I've spent a lot of time in BG, have a great friend (who first name rhymes with BG) who coached basketball there and is now a suit, so I always follow the Purples from afar with great interest.

Wow...then I read every...single...post.    Whew.  A lot in this thread to unpack.  So I'll act like I just got to a vacation, leave the case packed, and just head out to see the sights.

BG is a great program, with a great team this year, and they are certainly the favorites on paper.  

Hope it is a terrific game, everyone stays healthy, and I hope the post-game thread is a little better than this one turned out to be.  ?

Any traveling tips for BG fans from CC fans?? Is the I75 Bridge there an issue? Are we Being rerouted?

I know from a recent trip up north that traffic on I-75/I-71 slows down a lot in the northbound direction around Florence, about 5 miles north of where the two expressways merge in Walton. They are directing all traffic headed north to Ohio to take I-275 (the loop around Cincy) to get across the river, but the I-71/I-75 is still open through Covington. You're going to be getting off the expressway at the Fort Wright/Kyles Lane exit, just before you head down the hill to Covington and Cincinnati.

There are a small number of ways to divert and avoid some of the expressway traffic, but I'm guessing that after a month of the bridge nightmare up that way, those side routes have all been more than exploited. Those are probably better addressed by the folks up there driving day to day.

My advice, build an extra 20 minutes into your ETA. Thing get even more congested than normal on Fridays.

Once you get to Richwood, heading north, if traffic is really backed up, any one of the succeeding northbound exits will get you to Dixie Hwy (Rt 25), up to the Kyle’s Lane exit.  Worst case, you can travel Rt 25 all the way to Park Hills, but, I think traffic lightens up, once you get past 275.   Between Richwood and Kyle’s Lane, there are roughly 6 or 7 bail out exits that ultimately lead to Dixie Hwy.

Any final predictions on how this game might play out? Anyone not playing in this game due to injury that has played most of the season?  
BG has been told ALL WEEK long that they have NEVER beaten CC!!! Pretty sure they want to change that statistic on Friday night.. ?

It's been a long week, lol. But it's finally game day!

To me, if Bowling Green plays well and doesn't turn the ball over I believe they win. It won't be easy, but from what I can tell I believe Bowling Green is the better team this year.

History is not on their side though. But I'm going Bowling Green 21-14.

Very thankful both teams were able to make it without any Covid issues.

 

I voted CovCath in the poll, but "not so fast [myself]," I will officially go with:

BG -- 21

CovCath -- 10

 

Hope I'm wrong, to be fair, but that seems most likely to me.
