Does he have a High School Head Coaching Experience? Highlands has now done that twice now in recent memory and both times haven't worked out. I highly doubt that mistake will made a 3rd time. There's more to being a Head Coach than X's and O's and stable Game/Program experience must play a factor.....JMO! And why does it have to be a Highlands guy? That didn't stop Dale Mueller from hiring Kevin Listerman for the Basketball program. You find that best candidate to lead your program. But I think Head Coaching experience should play a Major role in the Administration's process.

That's because I think there should be 2 AD's...Thoughts? One for Boys and maybe a Female for the Girls. Way too much for 1 AD to do especially at Highlands and expectations with Sports programs being added each year.

I think two AD's would complicate things. There are much bigger schools than Highlands that have one AD.

To prevent getting embarrassed by a 45-0 score in a game against a good team? To face quality competition and prepare the team to win playoff games? To try and win a state championship? New Cath does want to try to win another state championship, don't they?

 The pertinent point to this thread is I am sure Highlands wants to win state championships and I don't think softening the schedule just to chalk up wins helps you win a state championship.

You've lost me. Not sure what point you are making? I'm talking about the playoff classification. Are you suggesting the NewCath would have the same chance of success in the 2A playoffs than they would the 1A playoffs?

Teams should play competitive schedules that will challenge them to improve, find strengths, weaknesses and flaws that need to be addressed. Highlands schedule is competitive and a good schedule to prepare them for the playoffs. 

New Cath didn't soften their schedule to chalk up wins. They missed out on 3 early games this year against Campbell County, Cooper and Roger Bacon because of COVID19. The rest of their schedule is almost identical to Beechwood's schedule from 2016, which included only two teams above 2A (Covington Catholic and a (4-6) Franklin County. The rest of Beechwood's schedule was Lloyd, Somerset, Newport, Covington Holy Cross, Dayton, Bellevue, Ludlow and Newport Catholic. Sub out Lloyd for Holmes and Somerset for Walton Verona and you've got New Cath's schedule in 2020. That schedule seemed to work out for Beechwood. They won the 1A state championship.

IMO, it makes Title IX even harder if you have two different people running two different "parts" of the athletic department. I see no benefit in having separate AD's for boys and girls. What does that accomplish?

Fair enough! Not here to argue. I was just curious is to why you wouldn’t. That’s all! 

Reading about Cincinnati St. X in other threads makes me wonder if Andrew Coverdale might be interested in being a head coach and if Highlands could attract him. Coverdale is current offensive coordinator at St. X and was previously at Trinity.
