FOOTBALL PRIDE
All State just totally skips over 2AA football How Do running backs like Kasey Clark, Justin Collins, Ronnie Dardin and Justin Collins not even get a vote. and Vic Anderson makes and he played about 8 games this year and didnt even rush for 1000 yards? I'am from lou Western and we had two backs(Collins and Dardin) go for 1900 a piece, and the QB rushed for 1000. That must mean the backs are the best in the state, or our lineman deserved to get some votes. KHSAA football was a joke this year.....for messing up the playoffs, to playing the title games during the week, to giving Doug the Mr. Football title over Nick, when he threw 300+yards on Doug and 4 tds, on the way to the state title which Nick won. Vic played in 11 games, ran for 1,329 yards on 111 carries, scoring 22 TD's (rushing), and another score receiving...AND he played the thoughest schedule by far. OldRaider22
I think whenever all-state teams of any sort (all-district, all-star, etc.) come out we should have one thread devoted to congrats to the kids named to the team. Then have a different thread to cry and complain about the kids that didn't make it. It does an injustice to the kids on the team to harp on who didn't make it. It is as senseless as rating a team that has been defeated in the playoffs ahead of a team that defeated them. Its as bad as getting defeated and claiming to be the better team. Congrats to all the kids that made all-state, you should be proud. About as senseless as saying that a team that made the state finals wouldn't be in the top 5 in Louisville? Doesn't that also do an injustice to the kids that made it there, to harp how the other teams that lost were better? Can't have your cake and eat it too. Bluebird23
How does Jordan Kramer not even get honorable mention? Over 1500 yards, 30+ TD's and over 9 yards a carry against one of the toughest schedules in the state...thats a joke
OldRaider22
For the record, I think that ANYONE who makes the all-state team is certainly to be commended for their efforts. However, we all know that this is a voting process, and anytime you have that, with a small sample, your going to have biases.

Dark Horse
Congrats to Coty Conley of Johnson Central for making First team, Shawn Grim and Nathanial Dials for making second team, and Blake Johnson and Micheal Tackett for getting honorable mention. The only question I have is how did Ian Welch who had 15 INT's this season not make even Honorable Mention. My little Bro making first team :dancingpa :dancingpa Congrats to all the others as well. I was wondering about Ian also
depend-on-me
I can't believe that they left Casey Alln and Beckham Herald from Breathitt County off the list. Both had amazing years for the bobcats. What about Ryan Howard from Leslie, man there is alot of names that deserve to be on this list and got the wrong end of the deal in this list. Congrads to those who did make it, it's just a shame to see these boys off the list.
True blue (and gold)
I was told that in order for a player to be considered for the AP All-State team, that your town had to have a daily newspaper. I know that our town only has a weekly paper. Did this possibly hurt any of the aforementioned players that were not on the list?

Bardstown only has a 3x weekly newspaper, and we have two on the Honorable Mention.
KyFan11
It also has a lot to do with how much the coach advertises the "player"...
KyFan11
Raceland Rams go 11-2 with a district championship and give NCC all they can handle in the regional championship and dont even get one player on honorable mention. QB Scott Grizzle had 31 passing td's 7 rushing and only 7 interceptions and doesnt even get his name on the list....thats ridiculous! And ask anybody that played the Rams about LB J.T. Forrest... if anybody should have made it for defense from the "Ashland-Area" it should have been Forrest. Just ask the TOMCATS about #51 for the Rams. But then again, the ADI would hate to give a vote to a couple kids that beat "their" team. Politics! I am telling ya - it has a lot to do with who is pushing your name! You have to have connections with the media- and a coach that will push your name through- which will leave some othera over looked when this happens.... I can't believe Josh Smith from Frankfort didn't make 1st team either. But congratulations to those who earned it!

I feel that smith, was lucky he made the list, just like every other kid on there, I don't know of one of those kids who doesn't deserve the award it does have alot to do with politics and advertising, but chances are if you are getting advertised or people like you, you have done something right. TeddyBear
Congratulations to all the young men who appear on these lists! To those who feel one or another player was done an injustice...have you seen each of the other individuals who appear? Like any list, there will be those who could have been on it, but for the fact that the lists are finite. I'm sure everyone would love to be able to honor every player who plays the game, but it's simply not possible. Sometimes, what separates the players who make the list and those who don't, is more than stats, or popularity.
