It's not all about statistics. Lots of backs put up big numbers, and even some great backs don't put up great numbers because of the way they're used.

If that is all that you want to look at than that kid from WVA who had about 700 yds and 10 TD in a game would be lock for 1st team all-state.

Chip Burke from Newcath made it over Vince Murray??? Joe Sullivan from HC makes All-State? No Kramer? Now I know there were some great players in 4A this year, and I'm not saying we had the "best" players at Ryle, but one player? I'm not asking for much, but I was pretty sure we'd have 2 somewhere between 3 teams. What a sham.........

Chip had a tremendous year, we couldn't have won state without him. He deserves to be on the list!

I think its pretty sad to read some posters on this board claim that this poll is a "joke" etc. I wonder what you would think if your boy got selected rather than omitted. Then the AP would be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Have a little class and respect for the kids that were selected. If you don't like this poll or any others keep your yap shut and start your own poll. :madman:

So you think the AP poll is the most accurate?

LSU,

Guess that means "your" boy made it. Even if mine had made it, I would still be willing to listen to those who felt "their" boy should have made it. Regardless, it is a joke when a lot of average players get named and other above-average players don't.

FYI, I don't have a "boy". It is insulting to all the kids that you consider "average" , maybe you would have picked your kid, but it aint your job to pick. So I think you would be better served with explaining why your boy should have been picked without talking down the kids that did get picked. And you will have to excuse me if I choose to comment on any thread that I care to, I've been doing this a little while now. Sorry.

i really do not think any of these comments are aimed toward the kids however it is true some of this players are holding records for most tackles, yards, etc. Some of these players have been in their local papers everytime they wrote up an article about the game and still they were overlooked. Would you not think there is something wrong? There should not be the my boy. It should be whose on the paper. Who played their heart out and who has the facts to back that up. Congradulations to the boys that made it. To the ones that didnt and should have we watched you and we are proud. You are all state in our book.

Exactly. Every year people dismiss it adn whine because a kid they thought should have made it didn't. Guess what, if you boy makes someone on the list doesn't. Does that make the list any more credible? No, for the most part every list is subjective. You could make 5 teams and there would still be kids left off. Kasey Clark makes first team DB and I saw a couple of posts from people complaining that he didn't make it as a RB.

No room on All-State team for a kid that finishes regular season as #4 rusher in state with over 2,000 yds as a sophomore. Two RB's from Southwestern listed as honorable mention with just over 1,000 yds each, yet North Bullitt RB Dalton Cissell left off completely - Give me a break!

Joke alright. What about Dusty Miller from Rockcastle Co that led all rushing yards in the state with 2534 yards and only make honorable mention. Now that is a joke too. It depends on your local area. These sports writers take care of their local kids. If you don't have a local AP then you are out of luck. The Courier Journal All State voted by coaches will come out on Dec 24th. That is the most fair all state.

And if Miller doens't make that team are you going to feel the same?
