March 22, 20206 yr Not sure if this should be categorized under "Hope" but I am strongly considering adopting a puppy. My wife has been hell bent on this for some time, especially now that we bought a house. She is working from home for the foreseeable future, so she would be around to potty train and do all of that. I am always resistant to this type of change since we do travel quite a bit and I've always had terrible guilt about leaving dogs home alone during the day. My job does allow me to go home for lunch most days of the week. I know I would love it, but it is a kid you can't take anywhere and I know will lose at sometime. But it would undoubtedly bring about some joy... Should we do this? Yes! Absolutely yes!
March 22, 20206 yr Forced to learn new skills—-my technology world is opening up, as I am forced to do new things, learn new APPs etc. Same here. We learned how to use Skype and now we can have face to face visits with both of our adult children. A much needed visit to all of us.
March 24, 20206 yr I was walking my dog around our usual loop, which is quite popular in Ft. Mitchell. Evidently, one creative mom made some fun for her children and for walkers. Along the sidewalk in front of their house they started a path, marked in sidewalk chalk. The first paver said “walk this way” and each section had something fun on it, including two hop scotch drawings. I have to say, I haven’t hopped to hop scotch in probably 40 years, but I did today....very badly. Made me laugh and I wonder how many walkers did the same. Had I not been concentrating on not falling down, I would have looked to see if they were watching. Just hope there was no video.
March 29, 20206 yr This is probably the best video I have seen on the COVID19 virus. It is from an ICU doctor at Cornell Hospital in New York City. He was answering questions to his family online. They have since past it on for those in the US to see. The first 20 minutes are really encouraging if you follow whats being asked. Covid_19_Protecting_Your_Family_Dr_Dave_Price_3_22_2

March 30, 20206 yr Yes! And name her Corona! Excellent point. No. Yes! Absolutely yes! A no brainer in my mind, yes. I don’t think I have ever been without a dog, as a child or adult. Mans best friend for sure. Well, my wife finally broke me down and we have a puppy on order. He will be here next Monday; it is a goldendoodle. Last week sitting alone really got to my wife, so having the puppy companion will be a nice addition to the family. Plus we will be around these first few weeks to make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble. I have a lot of anxiety about this, but I know it will be good for us in the long run. We are naming him Fauci.
March 30, 20206 yr Also ordered a Peloton over the weekend. Doing our best to keep the economy afloat.

March 30, 20206 yr After 35 years of marriage, I have discovered that I can live 24/7 with my wife and not have either of us commit a felony against the other.

March 30, 20206 yr 1. My daughter returned from Singapore five weeks early and made it beyond 14 days with no fever or other symptoms. 2. She flew from Singapore to Tokyo to Toronto to Cincinnati on Air Canada and arrived home one week before Canada shut down the border with the US. We made the right decision at the right time. 3. She was able to exchange her original ticket which routed her through South Korea 5 weeks later for the ticket that allowed her to fly the next day to Tokyo and on home and it didn't cost her anything. South Korea was at a level 3 alert at the time while Tokyo was a level 2. If we had had to find her a different route home with another airline it would have cost at least $2,500. If she went through South Korea she probaly would have been quarantined on the west coast. Yes, our family was rejoicing.

April 2, 20206 yr My daughter is working at a grocery store. They decided to give their employees a $2 temporary raise because of the increased risk of contracting the Coronavirus. My son received the same for working at one of those big warehouse stores. His company called it "Hazard Pay". My daughter's company called it "Hero Pay." :ohbrother: She wants me to get her a cape.
