Essentially Jerry Wyman is having to give Marshall High School Athletics 101 during this meeting.  Come on man...

Marshall wants to have a Jefferson County Championship this year to ensure none of the other districts that are not as wise as Jefferson County don't spread the COVID to anyone from Jefferson County.

It looks like some other people are probably getting a 101 as well.  At least he is probing and asking.  It is interesting that they would not know the basics of how games are contracted between schools.  But I am sure a lot of BOE member across the state are now dealing with things they never imagined before this year.

That's interesting since they have by far the most cases in the state.

Ms. Linda Duncan is up now.  She is Ms. LindaDuncanDuncan on the broadcast. 

She wants to thank everyone for their input and she tried to listen to everyone.

She wants to know what the threshold is for stopping practices at a school and the threshold for stopping games at a school.

What is the threshold to cancel practice or games?

Ms. Duncan wants to make sure that parents are aware that JCPS can shut them all down at anytime. 

Now Duncan is asking about what data they have in Louisville on positive kid cases.  She is horrible, you can't make this up.

He was really against Option 1 at the KHSAA BOC meeting last week.

From what I could make out from the Fayette Co. meeting they are a go now with the KHSAA option 1. So the Henry Clay canceling of games with I think Pulaski and Douglass was just them and not FCPS. Great news for Fayette!

Ms. Duncan would love for us to be able to make it through practices and the season and she says it won't be this board that shuts down the season but it will be COVID that shuts down the season.

She takes no responsibility for anything.

She is going on about other things she doesn't know.

Then I guess it will be a long time before JCPS goes back to school and have any type of extracurricular event. Just a dumb comment by him.

Great news!

Corrie Shull is starting by sucking up to Pollio and to the other members.  He wants to thank everyone (parents, schools, coaches, players, etc). 

Shull doesn't see how we can undertake fall sports and not make COVID worse.  He is definitely a no play guy. 

Jefferson County does NOT have a 10% positivity rate among actual people Ms. Duncan. 

The statistics are not related to people.  They are related to tests, that we do not know the demographics of. 

So far it looks like the state has less than a 1% positive rate from looking at UK and UofL numbers.
