Covington Catholic 63 Beechwood 52 (35th District Finals)

Featured Replies

Colonels led start to finish.

Big congratulations to Scotty Draud on becoming Beechwood's all-time scoring leader!

Grant Disken led the Colonels with 23 points and 4 steals.

Chandler Starks had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Will Downton led the Tigers with 17 points, 4 steals, 3 assists.

Scotty Draud with 16 points and has 2,395 for his career. He passed Anthony Frommeyer, Class of 1997, who had 2,389.

CovCath holds the Beechies to 33.3% from the field while shooting 47.7% themselves. That will win you a lot of games.

Shout out to CovCath fan boy @Randy Parker on the prediction.

As we speak I believe.

@statman Sounds like we hung with them pretty well.

Halftime score was 36-23.

I get what you're saying. It never felt like Beechwood was in it, but just down 13 at the half.

This game was never close. Cov Cath looked like they were just going through the motions in the 2nd half and never lost control. The game got close at the end as Cov Cath played their bench and Beechwood played their starters.

Incorrect. Goetz emptied his bench with his 6-10 guys - no starters - Boyd, Maguire, Hergott, Moore & Rolf. Ruthsatz put Skinner, Wahoff and Hrycak in with McHale/Murphy. Goetz conceded first, Ruthsatz and his staff took a break in berating the officials - for the first time in the entire game - and appropriately subbed in at almost the exact same time. I believe Rolf and Hergott hit 3's in the final 130 or so with that group in.

Incorrect. I am telling you Goetz didn't empty his bench until the very end.

Once again, you are incorrect. I was sitting at the end of the scorers table right next to the CovCath bench. Goetz subbed in his entire second team in around the 130 mark. Not sure why you're wanting to push that...
