13 penalties CAL. 217 yds total.

3 penalties Desales. 17 yds.

Would have been nice to be able to sustain drives. KHSAA ought to be ashamed.

Great win in heated rivalry. DeSales went to a passing attack that tilted the tables offensively for the Colts late in the 2nd quarter. The Centurians keep DeSales's James Johnson in check all night. Colts also were stopping Centurions run game for most part.. But CAL being CAL, kept coming up with big plays when needed and you never felt that this game was never out of hand until DeSales went up 30-7 late in the 4th quarter. Turnovers and I believe 4 personnel fouls must have been a big factor in this lopsided score. This was easily a much closer than the score shows.

Have to know to play disciplined at this time of the year, even against a rival. Congratulations to DeSales.

I call that a discipline problem for CAL and that goes to coaching.

Where does the margin of victory rank in the recent years of games between these two?

A play that set the tone for the game was during CAL's first possession. A long pass took the ball to around the DeSales 10 yard line. However, an excessive celebration penalty against CAL brought the ball back to the DeSales 25 and CAL failed to score on the possession. Penalties like that one cost CAL throughout the game.

It sounds like CAL should be ashamed with the 13 penalties more so than KHSAA, but I wasn’t there. Good win for DeSales.

Are you trying to imply that the penalties weren't warranted? I don't even think you're coaching staff would argue that point. They looked totally undisciplined last night.

The game was tied 7-7 with 2:36 to go in the first half. It was 20-7 at halftime.

Penalties and turnovers killed CAL’s chances. They were inside the 15 Yd line 3 times in the game and failed to score.

While the lack of discipline was evident in the number of penalty yards (personal fouls), the disparity in the number of flags is glaring considering the number of times the flags were not thrown against DeSales.

No doubt the best team won. But the game was MUCH closer than 30-7.

I was wondering the same thing about the margin. It seems that all the recent games have been close.

For years, CAL has toed the line on dirty play. The refs were calling them last night. I wish they would enforce the rules every game.

Very disingenuous!! 17-3 flag disparity as I’m hearing it. Commish should definitely sanction that crew!! The “celebration” penalty set the tone. Tough to play 11 on 12+. Refs/ DeSales 2 - CAL 0

I would expect nothing less from a CAL fan.
