Covington Catholic beat Cooper in round one by a similar score to their regular season win over the Jaguars. In round two, the Colonels face another team they beat in the regular season - Conner. Can the Colones duplicate that victory?

 

Conner beat #8 Highlands in round one, making their season record against the Blue Birds 2-0. Can the Cougars upset a higher ranked team two weeks in a row?

CCH wins easily. I say running clock by 3rd quarter. They are on a mission to get back to state championship game and win it this time.

This game will not be close.

Real nice season for Conner but zero chance against CovCath. Way too much of a talent differential. Moral victory if it's not a running clock.

This makes the 34th time these two have played each other since their first meeting on the football field in 1975. Cov Cath leads the series 21-12.

 

They've met twice in the playoffs. In 1993 Cov Cath beat Conner 7-3, and in 1996 Conner beat Cov Cath 22-14.

I'm not convinced that there will be a running clock this time around, and I'm completely fine with that so long as the Colonels are the ones playing next week. Come playoff time, a 1 point win is still a win.
