It has come to this. "Over promised, under performed" is a quote I heard recently. The Browns came with a lot of hype to begin the season. I didn't believe it then and stated that I needed to see something on the field. The start of the season wasn't what we hoped but their schedule was admittedly tough, and they did beat the Ravens.

But last night started the part of the season that is supposed to be easier and they whiffed big-time against Denver. The defense could not stop a QB that had not taken a regular season snap since 2016, and the offense could not make the plays. Denver's offense had the Browns on their heels the whole night. Somebody on the Broncos side of the field called a great game and it appeared that Wilks' defense didn't know what was coming next.

Following the game, DB Jermaine Whitehead reacted to some media criticism of his poor tackling with racist and threatening tweets. He was still in his uniform when he started tweeting and the Browns media people escorted him out of the post-game media time. BTW, the criticism of his poor tackling and terrible coverage was accurate. If he doesn't like it, play better next time. The Browns cut him today.

There are media-types saying it is time for Kitchens to go. The Cleveland media has been questioning whether John Dorsey made the right call in promoting Kitchens to HC. The national media and NFL prognosticators are saying it may be time to make a change.

What do you think? Is this too premature or should Cleveland make a move before things get even worse? Give us your reasoning.

If you weren't going to hire a coach with much (if any) head coaching experience then they whiffed by letting Gregg Williams walk, imo.

Kitchens was never the right choice and really appears to have climbed the ladder to quickly. It's not to say he will never ever be successful, but he has the deer in the headlights look now.

Not sure anyone has been fired mid-way through a first season without some kind of scandal, so that's probably not going to happen. But it has been clear from the start Kitchens had no business being a head coach.

I'd leave him in place to finish out the season. The GM then needs to really dissect what went wrong and why...it could be on the coach it could be on the locker room. Either way I'd let him finish the season and suffer with everyone else.

I wouldn't fire Kitchens unless the guy I want to be next year's head coach is on staff or available.

I liked the Freddie hire at the time but after seeing too much undisciplined football and looking at where the offense is statistically rated halfway through the year (with the weapons they have) - I'm OK with showing him the door after the season ends.

Must be tough being the coach of an over-rated, under-performing second year QB who can't do much more than throw a slant pattern and run his mouth.

Can't argue with your assessment here. Mayfield has not been good when I have seen him. He misses a lot of open receivers. Throwing high is a tendency I see.

Last year he had 20 TDs and 0 INTs inside the red zone and a 66% completion rate. This year he completes 30% of his passes inside the red zone, with 3 INTs and only 4 TDs.

Something is definitely off with him. His receivers are getting frustrated, not just with passes that are off target, but also with his decisions. He failed to pull the trigger on a pass to OBJ that had the announcers baffled.

When he was fired last year, Hue Jackson had a better record than what Kitchens has.

I don't think so. His record was 3-36-1. There is no way to separate out his 2018 record from the previous two seasons, 1-15 and 0-16. 2-5-1 in 2018 is not better than Kitchens because of his previous work.

Something is wrong with Mayfield, and that’s the primary thing that ailing them. That said, the play calling has not helped, and his refusal to give up that aspect has been a red flag. I watch Cleveland more than I’d like due to fantasy implications, and I see far too little in terms of adjustments to their plight.

I still think Mayfield will be fine in the years to come. I think he let his rookie success get to him, and made him think it will always be easy. However, he definitely hasn't been good so far this year.

The team has no discipline. When you have players continually fined (or threatened to be fined) for breaking NFL rules and a QB more worried about his facial hair over the course of the game day, you're going to struggle.

Disagree. Last year's personnel is the closest to this year's. Using 2 dump seasons with trash rosters is not a fair comparison. Do you think this year's Browns team would have more wins if Hue were the coach? I do.
