Statmaster is correct, Elliott really misses Weddington. Ferguson is great player and is clearly Elliott's best. However, the only way he gets the ball is to rebound it or steal it. It was obvious to me that certian players don't want to pass him the ball. I noticed that when he received his award for being the player of the game that one of his high profile teammates went to the walked off the floor and went to the lockerroom prematurely.

 

Holbrook was outstanding for Raceland and Johnson is proving to be an excellent coach.

 

BR549, why you would get on here & say such a thing is unbelievable! The Elliott players were already in the locker room when a player of the game was announced. As they got halfway back out on the floor it was announced again & the Elliott players dejected over the loss immediately headed back to the locker room. You need to go back & watch some tape of that game & just watch how much was set up for Ferguson & quit trying to start something. Yes Weddingtons inside strength & leadership is really really missing and I do not think there is anyone there to fill that void. With this Elliott team more so than others past if the outside shot is not falling it most likely will be a loss !

Elliott was 11of 35 inside which is 31.4%. their normal inside % is 51.2. From the stripe they were 13 of 23 which is 56.5%. This plainly show's that "THE OUTSIDE SHOT" is not the main reason they lost they game.Yes it contrib. a small portion but if they just shot average from inside and stripe (7 more fg=14 and 4more ft=4 total 18) they would have won by fourteen even with the stinky outside shooting! Nonetheless they didn't and they lost but just making a point that it wasnt "just the outside game". They had 35 rebounds which I would say was real close to raceland. They had 18 steals which was offset by 20 turnover's. Moral of story: they had bad overall game just like last year against bathat start of season.

By the way, I have talked to the 3 super sophs a lot and seen them play several times, I have never seen any jealousy or anything other than support for each other, why is someone always trying to play that tune? They have confidence in their shot, some people are taking that and saying "there must be trouble"

Someone on another post said it would be a "RARE NIGHT" for Ferguson, Faulkner's, and Maynard to have an off night at the same time......... Well those four tonight were 15 of 54 (27.7%) oooouch!!!!!!!!! I was going to get a steak after the game but I had already had all the RARE i could stand in one NIGHT!!!!!!!

I agree they had open look after open look and just didnt knock them down. They will be ready monday. Congrats to the Rams they wanted more then Elliott did last night.

If you call Maynard shooting 27 footers time after time down the floor good looks then a good look needs to be redefined because last I checked that is a very low percentage shot.

I was at the game and while some shots were deep, they were no were close to "27 footers".

Not sure they were quite that far but that along with Fergusons off balance shots off 1 foot not exactly what you may want. However to their credit they both usually make those attempts. Plus the Rams shots were much hgher
