Really looking forward to this game. Games like this is why high school football is the greatest! I look for a hard fought game that is not decided until the end. I'll take Boyle 24-14

What are Boyle’s RBs like? Big Bruisers or quick and shifty? Is the O line really big? What is the Boyle D line like?

Highlands Defense has looked really good so far, it would really surprise me if Boyle scores over 28 points. If Highlands can contain the pass rush they could have a chance.

How many guys for Boyle go both ways?

Boyle O line has gotten better each week but would be the weakest. But if you look, Boyle is scoring big each week and CAL had a pretty big and good D line. The Offense is averaging 220.6 yards rushing a game, 214.6 yards passing and 53 points a game. Boyle's D line is really good, they are giving up 41.2 yards a game, 75 yards passing a game and 8.4 points a game. As for the running back, they are quicker that they look but you will not bring them down with just one defensive guy.

Boyle's backs are quick and Bartelson is fast out of the hole. (He's the one going to Notre Dame) Still I think Bartelson is maybe even better in the Secondary.

OLine isn't huge but they played well vs CAL's big Lines. I think their best performance as a unit was last Friday and they seem to be getting better each game.

Boyle Defense is very fast. (Kind of like the Mueller teams had in their big run) Wilson Kelly is a great DLineman. (if he were 2 inches taller he'd be getting Division 1 offers rather than FCS level) The LB's flow well to the ball and Reese Smith is a ball hunter from his Safety spot. (WVU commit)

Jackson Smith is an outstanding kicker. Only a sophomore but he's one of the highest ranked Kickers in the Nation.

Not too many.

Reese Smith does and Roller at LB/TE. Kelly sometimes plays in the OLine. Bartelson at CB/RB but Boyle platoons RB with two others: Sacco and McDaniel.

I think Boyle County’s versatility on offense is a problem for most teams. Landen and Reese get a lot of the pub but Reed Lanter has proven to be an outstanding QB and they have a stable of RBs and WRs that are all capable of huge performances. You can’t key in on one person. You have to have a way to stop them all. A strong pass rush is essential if you want to slow this offense down.

Truthfully, if Highlands can’t find a way to put up 28 points I don’t think they can win. They’ll need at least 28 points. I’d be surprised and impressed if Highlands can keep Boyle County from putting 35 on the board.

Wow, that is impressive. Sounds like Boyle has the team to beat this year. Even if Highlands gets beat by this Boyle team this is perfect for preparing for Cov Cath.

Highlands was 10-3 last year with one loss to 6A runner-up Scott County and two losses to 5A runner-up CovCath. The general consensus or feeling is that this year's Highlands team is better than last year's team.

Though the offense hasn't really performed as well as most would've hoped, the Birds have still been able to put at least 27 points on the board in every game. When the Birds are healthy with Buten (RB) and the sophomore speed receiver Welch (4 TDs), they can and will put points on the board. QB Hollingsworth has been finding a way to make stuff happen with his legs and with his receivers - Ahlfeld, Delagrange, Deshler, and others.

The defense has been as good as advertised, except against a loaded Knox Cath team with a handful of legit D1 players (Clemson, Tennessee, OK State / Ohio State, and etc). Highlands head coach Weinrich has to be one of the top defensive minds in the state. He should have the boys in the right spots at the right times and ready to make plays.

Personally, I think this will be a very close game that could go either way and could come down to special teams and turnovers. Highlands has traditionally won the special teams part of the game. The Birds' punter (Delagrange #2) has been booming the ball and can flip the field for this Birds defense. And Huddleston is always a threat returning kicks.

It's going to be a fun Friday night in Danville watching two top notch teams battle it out.

I tell you what the Highlands seem as if they are rounding into their old form. Now i still expect the rebs to win, but closer than the experts think.

Boyle Co- 42

Highlands- 34

Personally I think if Highlands hasn’t rounded into old form like the teams Dale had, then I think Boyle wins comfortably.

Boyle also has a top rated kicker in Jackson Smith. He can also flip the field if he gets a chance. Only problem for Smith is after 5 games Boyle has yet to punt the ball this year to show his talent.

Extra points Jackson is 35 for 35 and 1 for 1 on field goals and has a range of 50 yards.

If it comes down to kicking I like our chances.

Agree 100%. And if Highlands wins then IMO they become the favorite to win 5A.

Will Bartleson be available for Rebels?

Million dollar question that won’t be answered until Friday. IMO he doesn’t play.
