Middlesboro beat Beechwood 29-13 in the semis in 98. 1999 was the next year that it started.

I wanna say thanks to all the jumper faithful who supported us through our ups and downs! The good times and the bad times, the 0-4 start and the 9 game win streak and finally tonights loss. Thank You All!

Any stats for Deaton, Cole, and Hunter???

Nice to see the comments about NCC being a class act from Raceland fans last week and Somerset fans this week. Winning is important but playing with class is even more important. Both Raceland and Somerset proved to be worthy opponents for NCC.

Great win for NCC. Nice job by Somerset, they never quit and played every play.

My Prayers go out to M. Vicars. Keep your Faith and God will bring you through the injury.

Good luck to a great NCC football team and I hope you win another State Championship!!! You have proved once again that you belong at the top and have represented our Region with nothing but class.

:thumb: :thumb: I can 2nd that cville, NCC coaches, players and fans alike conduct themselves with a lot of class. I am pulling for NCC all the way, I said before our game with them that I thought that the winner of the NCC/Raceeland game would make it to Papa Johns and have a shot to take it all. As for the Raceland part, that now falls into the "if and buts" category and I won't mention that again. GO NCC!! I hope you win it all.

Your program earned the respect. The fans, student section, coaches and players carried themselves well. That is a big part of the reason you are so successful. Good things happen to good people, I am a firm believer in that.

Deaton had about 350 yards in the air and 50 on the ground.

Cole had 12 catches for 191 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Random thoughts:

You know NCC had great coverage on Cole but somehow that guy goes up and catches the ball every time. First time you think "that was lucky" but by about the 12th time you think "dang that guy is good". Especially considering his size, which is not big at all.

Got to give props to NewCath pulling one out without Vickars playing since the 14-7 mark. FB Burks came up huge, as did RB Mark Kelly, as did QB Harris and the host of receivers.

Somerset's lack of a running game kind of caught up to them tonight I think. Couldn't make first downs running the ball (other than the QB) and that forced some things in the passing game.

Deaton took a pounding while throwing the ball from the NCC defensive line but hung in there all night.

Rare but effective strategy by NCC not having anyone return punts once Vickars was injured. Never really hurt them and prevented any key turnovers.

Somerset field was in great shape and of course the weather was great. Very nice facility and hospitable people and fireworks at the end of the game. Crowd was about a 50/50 split between NCC fans and Somerset fans.

Congrats to NCC. Funny how things change. Just a couple weeks ago we were talking about them being lucky to get in to the playoffs, and now they're in the state championship. Just goes to show how good NKY 1A really is.

3 NKY teams in the state finals. Bring home one of those state championships Breds. Good luck men.

What type of injury did Vickers sustain?

What type of injury did Vickers sustain?

He sustained a leg injury. Right now we don't how bad it is. Hopefully he will be able to go on Friday. The doctor is going to take a look at it again on Monday and we will no more. We believe it is just a deep bruise to the muscle but untill the x-ray we won't know.
