Votto has lost it guys, strikeout after strikeout, his hitting doesn’t make up for his baserunning and defense anymore, 5 rbi’s, really????? I have some time to waste, so here goes. Votto is #3 on the Reds in batting average. Votto is #2 in OBP. Votto is #2 in runs scored. Votto is #1 on the Reds in doubles. That’s like George Carlin’s old skit “by the process of elimination somewhere in the world is the worst doctor”, with the hitting stats this team has put up those positions of where he is at is not very impressive, .235 BA These are compared to the worse hitting team in baseball. He should be high in all these stats vs. Reds team but being our best player, he should be compared to the NL. What has it been like 6 years in a row where people freak out about Votto during first month of the season? I mean literally every year the stuff you are saying is the same stuff people have said for probably the last 6 years after the first month of the year. Saying he has lost it, he sucks, they just don't see him turning it around. Then guess what every single time has he turned it around, and been one of the best batters in baseball. So this isn't the first time he has started off a year cold compared to what his season average would end up being. So until we see this actually continue for a whole season, definitely way to early and way off base to act like he has lost it when it is normal for him to start off very slow.

How about we start at the bottom of the list of crappy hitters on the Reds and get focused on getting rid of the worst hitters first, versus picking one of the better hitters (as crappy as they are) and going crazy on them?

I expect a lot more out of Votto than I do Schebler but you are right, Schebler has to go.

I’m sure he will and he deserves it, based on what he’s done in the past, unfortunately what he’s done in the past doesn’t help THIS team and that’s what matters now, he was pretty bad last year and he’s worse this year but he’ll still be paid $25,000,000 this year (and the next 4 years), when you’re getting paid like that you need to give your team more than what he has last year and this year so far, just the facts! So he was pretty bad last year? He was 3rd in all of baseball in on base percentage and he was in the top 40 in all of baseball in batting average and OPS last year. Just because by Votto's standards it wasn't as good as some of his best years, doesn't mean it was a bad year at all. It seems to be more of what you wanting to believe than what really was. Just like this year Votto's slow start is similar to basically every first month or so of his career. Then he usually always has shown he will end up being one of the better hitters in baseball for the season when it is all said and done.

Ok I looked at last year. 3rd in all of baseball in on base percentage, meaning he was getting out less than basically everyone in baseball. Then he was in the top 40 of all baseball in both batting average and OPS. So hmmm that doesn't seem to be like a bad season to me. In fact I think the majority of every starting baseball player in MLB would take that type of season every year.

Between you and 16th, Votto gets complained about nearly every day. You've toned it back some lately and it's appreciated. We get it, you guys don't like him.

May 2, 20197 yr That was an amazing stat they just showed for Mahle...12 of the 14 runs he's given up have been scored with 2 outs in the inning.
