Castillo just gave up a homer to Todd Frazier to lead off the bottom of the 7th. Mets 2–1.

Guy tries to drag a bunt at you, pulls it foul and you GO BACK TO A DEEP POSITION AGAIN?? Votto does some of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen out of a really talented player!!

Then what happened? Did he drag bunt again?

YES and beat it out to drive in their first run!!

Just pulled another good one on the bases, he does stuff that you don’t see high school kids do, DUMB AND DUMBER BY ALL BY HIMSELF!!

Votto with yet another base running blunder taking us out of an inning plus he gave them their run by playing deep on a bunter. The mental part of his game is missing.

Been watching baseball for almost 50 years now and he is, without a doubt, THE WORST at running the bases that I have EVER seen!!

Reds lose another one run winnable game to the Mets and their #5 starter. Next two will be real tough with their two excellent starters.

#5's win games too.

I'll agree with these statements. He is a very bad baserunner. I remember back to his inability to slide as well.

It was dumb, 100%, but I wonder if that's Votto's alignment or if that comes in from the dugout as well. They literally change alignment pitch by pitch, so you'd think they would have moved him in. Dumb either way though.

Bell HAS to do a better job of managing the bullpen!!

The Reds are #4 in bullpen in the MLB. I'm not sure that he's done a bad job managing it. Probably the only change I would make on a routine basis is to eliminate Garrett being a specialist. I think his stuff is good enough to get right handed hitters out too, but I'm willing to give Bell a chance to make his magic work over the long haul.

You can question the usage of Duke, but there is literally no one in AAA to take his place in the bullpen as a lefty, now if you're willing to replace him with a righty you can make an argument. While he's here he can't just rot on the bench. Going to need to use him eventually and with few blowouts either way that has had to have been in tight games.

I think people are looking at his bullpen management with an absolute microscope because every game has been so tight due to the lack of offense. Then when one bullpen guy gives up one run (like last night) it stands out so much greater. Bullpen guys all over the league give up runs, but sometimes they have the benefit of their teams being up by 1 or 2, heck sometimes even 3 runs.

Did the Reds set a record for most one-run losses in a month? Felt like almost all of their losses were by one run.

Not talking about who he brings in or their effectiveness, it’s the amount, last night, Stephens should’ve pitched longer, Hughes should’ve pitched longer. If they don’t trust Duke to pitch ship him out, if they can’t put him in it puts too much strain on the pen, things like that are what I’m talking about, if they’re going to be in the bullpen they’re going to have to be used!
