#22 Kentucky vs. #11 Memphis

I think Morris will have a big day today. He is probably the most dominate big man in Maui, but he has no one to help him down low. He was doubled by UCLA... a lot, and when he wasn't, he would make them pay for it. UCLA's coach Howland commented, "[their center] taking punishment, and Randolph Morris punishes you."

I think Morris will handle the inside presence of Memphis and Kentucky will make Memphis play at whatever speed UK wants. Big night from Morris, Perry and points for Crawford. Jasper will again show he can handle the point and I think Meeks will have a few highlights as well.

I think the time may be coming for the Bradley/Jasper switch, Bradley is not a point guard and that showed big time last night. What I think is so funny if Patrick Sparks made the same mistakes Mr. Bradley did last night we would not hear the end of it but it seems Bradley gets a free pass.

Memphis doesn't appear to me, to be very disciplined and have questionable shot selection, at times.

I don't think fatigue, with UK is a real concern with all the guards they have but rebounding, foul trouble for Morris and Crawford, concern me.

:thumb: :thumb: Good post and obsevations. Memphis has great athletes and basically just run the floor and play what I call "playground ball". Calapari (spelling?) .himself made the statement that he became a better coach by bringing in the best athletes that he could - throw the ball out and tell them to go play. That obviously is not all true but basicall they play undiciplined. UK has to do a better job of getting back on "D" on the runouts and keep them off the boards. This game imo depends on how this young UK team can come back the day after a tough loss to UCLA. Cats by 7.

Morris "could" be the most dominate big man but jmo he still is playing "soft". Morris to me anyway doesn't like to mix it up so to speak, if Morris would ever decide to tke charge down low no one would stop him but as of now I don't think that he has that mentality.

The time for that switch was last night... Bradley was awful and really killed the Cats last night. Tubby needs to start Jasper today and bring Bradley off the bench as a 2 guard, and I think he would be my second or third guard coming off the bench. Jasper did a far better job last night in handling the ball whereas Bradley would turn it over just dribbling without any real pressure.

Tough matchup for the Cats...

Have GOT to slow them down to have any chance.

If it's the same as last night we will see the same outcome. A loss.

:thumb: I agree, he does play soft at times. He certainly has the size and potential to be a dominating player. His soft side could be a reflection of the type of offense that the Cats run. I would like to see him become more physical but it seems when he does the foul calls go against him and he has to change his style of play.

It will be another tough one for the Cats, but something tells me they pull this one out...Cats by 6.

UK by 3

I think today's key is which coach makes his team more interested to play in a third place game.

The thing is UK has yet to get their players to play a consistent entire game. Crawford has played 2 great halves since hes been in Maui. Perry had a poor offensive game yesterday, Bradley had a bad game yesterday. I think if the 5 starters can all play well along with those freshmen coming in and getting after people, we can win this game decisively.

Both teams have a lot of good young players. It will be interesting to see how all of them respond after hard fought losses.

I dont see how he is getting a free pass, alot of people have been hard on him. If anything Jasper is gettig a free pass, because he had some REALLY KEY turnovers just like Bradley that cost us. Except with Bradley his turnovers for whatever reason it was, was not being able to catcht the dang ball, and that wouldn't matter if he is at PG or 2G if he cant catch it..

Maybe it's because we wouldn't have even been in the game had it not been for Jasper's first half performance...he was reason number one for us coming back from 19 down...

...anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to you all...I'm going home to watch the game...and if I don't leave now, I'll miss the tip...
