April 29, 20197 yr I replied when Melisandre asked that...along with a million people, I’m sure. I guess we we should have realized what was happening and that Arya was destined to kill him right at that moment. I had it in the back of my mind but when the Night King was standing in front of Brann I kind of dismissed her saving him. Just kind of where they were and the other WW "generals" standing there. Didn't think she could get there. Man did I love how they played that out...with the breeze hitting the other walkers like that and her coming out of the shadows. One of my favorite scenes in TV ever.
April 29, 20197 yr Love that it was Arya that got the kill. Her and Lady Mormont taking down the giant. Little bosses. I don't think Arya gets Cersi now though. It was my thought she would kill Cersi until last night. Her killing the Night King has me rethinking however...Cersi is the only name left on her list and I think we know what happens when a name is on "no ones" list.
April 29, 20197 yr Someone remind...when did Arya and the Melisandre meet before...when she told Arya she would close many eyes?

I realized Arya was going to kill him when she said the part about blue eyes, but I didnt know how.
April 29, 20197 yr Someone remind...when did Arya and the Melisandre meet before...when she told Arya she would close many eyes? It was when Melisandre took Gendry from the Brotherhood, to give to Stannis so she could show him the power in King's blood. Arya was upset and Melisandre told her there was a darkness in her....and that they would meet again. Also the part about the eyes.

The Mountain and The Hound are on her list aren't they? Maybe not the Hound anymore but the Mountain is Im pretty sure.
April 29, 20197 yr Is Ilyn Payne still alive? He was also on the list. Hasn't appeared in the show for years, but I don't remember having any reason to think he's not still carrying out the Queen's justice in King's Landing.
April 29, 20197 yr Last night's episode was quite something... but I can't help but feel like these guys are just milking it at this point. The writing has been less than great in recent seasons and I don't think they've ever had a very good plan for how to end things. I'll be curious to see what they've come up with. Episodes one and two could have been a single episode and last night's festival of set-pieces could have been 20 minutes shorter and not lost very much. The stuff with the Night's King was fun and gave us some great action sequences, but I'm excited for the show to get back to what the show does best at this point: letting Cersei spew venom at anyone within range while everyone else scrambles to figure out how to make it stop.
April 29, 20197 yr Is Ilyn Payne still alive? He was also on the list. Forgot about that dude. But I don’t remember the mountain being on her list. I think she took the Hound off.

Hasn't the show also been about the Night King and the white walkers since the beginning? Every season talked about winter is coming leading up to this. So they had to at least build this all up to start this season, since the whole series was leading up to this battle. I do think a few others probably should have died though. Imo no way Sam should have survived, since he was also out there in the battle. The dude can't fight and yet somehow he survived lol. It will be interesting to see how this wrap it up though.

Very first scene was about the Rangers fleeing the white walkers, wasnt it?
April 29, 20197 yr Is Ilyn Payne still alive? He was also on the list. I have been asking people about this for awhile. No one seems to know what is going on with him.

Sam can’t die... then there wouldn’t be a GRRM cameo of “old Sam” writing “a song of ice and fire” to end the series.
