Actually, wasn't the Night King's real war with the Starks. Bran the Builder built The Wall, Winterfell, and House Stark. Isn't it Bran the Conqueror that originally pushed him back during the long winter.

 

To me, it seems perfect that he should fall to House Stark and not Westros.

 

 

No, he was created to fight the First men, which became all life. So he wanted to destroy all life. So it wasn't just house Stark. Bran the Builder did build Winterfell and the Wall, but that was after they were pushed back beyond the wall and defeated.

The moment when Melisandre lit all of the Dothraki swords was really cool...and I thought the view of their charge (and death) was pretty cool and really creepy. The looks on all the other men's faces as the Dothraki swards just disappeared like fireflies blinking off was awesome.

 

I love warm movies. That was one of the cooler and creepier things I've ever seen in regards to a battle. So simple but so awesome. I'd have been crapping my pants even more than I already was.

Except that she didn't use her special weapon to kill him.

I thought they were kind of weak-handed in the folks they killed. They needed to kill off somebody more significant.

 

We saw Berric Dondarrion, Edd Tollett, Jorah Mormont, Lyanna Mormont, and Theon Greyjoy die...plus Melisandre, except her death had nothing to do with the battle.

 

No word for sure on Gendry, Podrick Payne, Tormund Giantsbane, since we didn't see them following the Night's King's death...but we're left to assume they're alive.

The Night King was pretty significant.

I absolutely loved it. Best 80 minutes of TV or cinema for me, hands down. When the Night King's theme starts playing (right as Sansa and Tyrion reach for each other) there are so few words spoken, but the acting and the details just blew me away. Which reminds me...how cool was that hint of a breeze on the White Walker general's shoulder when Arya was coming to kill the Night King?

I keep going back and forth on who I think will get the Cersei kill. A lot of people think it's going to be Jaime and I can see that. I hope its Tyrion. I keep going back and forth on whether it would be Arya or not. I think it could be because of the Red Witch's prophecy and the green eyes (which Cersei has). But then I don't think they'd give Arya the two biggest kills in the final season.

Dany can still hasve a claim for the Iron Throne, it's just no longer substantiated given what we know about Jon.

That's true...but Jon first needs to decide that he actually wants to make a claim to the Iron Throne in the first place. He was pretty reluctant to be named King Of The North, so I still question how everything goes there...whether or not be even contests Dany himself, or if it's Bran and Sam who come forward and say, "Hey, she's not the rightful heir...Jon/Aegon is."

 

And even then, they have to convice folks that it's actually true that Jon is actually a Targaryen.

 

Also, Dany has lost Jorah, who has stood as her defacto voice of reason through most of this. She's proven that she kind of sucks in battle, and that she tends to react more often than act, and that when she reacts, she often relies more on emotion than logic and reason. So she has the potential to become a hell of a hot mess from this point.

 

There's also her very clearly still-standing beef with Sansa, who wants The North to be its own independent kingdom. Plus Dany's Hand, Tyrion, was being all cutesy hand-holding with his wife Sansa down in the Winterfell crypts during the Battle Of Winterfell.

I think Sansa will kill Cersei.
