March 24, 20197 yr Same thing was said about Evans last year. Mick won 28 games in a "rebuilding year" instead. Keep swinging JA. You'll connect eventually. There isn’t a highly touted kid from Wilmington, who wants to stay near his family this time around. Jarron needs to stay another year, then “suffering” through another 30 wins is in play. But if he doesn’t let’s see if you connect on 30 wins without him.
March 24, 20197 yr Unless something crazy happens, I don't see any movement on the realignment front for another 4-5 years. I do expect things to get crazy again in 2023 or so, but a lot can happen in terms of how we consume content between now and then. 2023? The AAC just signed a new $1 Billion, 12 year deal with ESPN, running through the 2031/32 academic year. It increased the per team payout by almost 3 fold. What else do you see happening in 2023?

March 24, 20197 yr This will sound like a crazy question, but I think it is legitimate. If Mick were 6'1", would people like him more? Nobody likes Fran McCaffery
March 24, 20197 yr This will sound like a crazy question, but I think it is legitimate. If Mick were 6'1", would people like him more? Depends...would he still have a huge case of “little man syndrome”?
March 24, 20197 yr Depends...would he still have a huge case of “little man syndrome”? If he acted the same way and was 6'1", would it still be little man syndrome?
March 24, 20197 yr If he acted the same way and was 6'1", would it still be little man syndrome? No, then he’d be just considered an unlikeable horses rear end, so pretty much no difference than what he is now.
March 27, 20197 yr Told this to a diehard UC fan last week. What has he won since he's been there. Sure, he will get you 25-30 wins and claim he's got more wins than any other team in the AAC (to that I say so what) but at the end of the day you need to at least be in the Sweet 16 more that once in 13 seasons. Sure, he'll get you to the dance but you won't break a sweat before the first song is complete in most years as half the time UC is out in the first round. It's time for a change IMO and not sure quite why Alabama would be in hot pursuit. He won't give you more that what Avery put out in my opinion.

March 27, 20197 yr So much for the Cronin to Bama'. They just hired Nate Oats from Buffalo. Cronin going to Bama was never on the table. I told you guys that on page one.
March 28, 20197 yr Mo Egger was talking on his show today about a report that UC's AD offered Cronin a contract extension before the season at a lower salary than his current salary.
March 28, 20197 yr I think it really boils down to how UC views itself as a program. Are they a program that is content and satisfied with making the tournament every year? If so, Mick is the perfect coach for how they view themselves. If they consider themselves a program that should be winning games and playing past the first weekend in March, well Mick has a pretty good track record that says he can’t get that done.
