16thBBall Fan Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Final congrats to Trinity on the state title. Tough loss for the 2nd straight year for Scott Co. These kids had great careers just could not get that last game. This is Scott County's 3rd loss in the state championship in the last 6 years.
Randy Parker Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Great fourth quarter for Trinity. Congrats to the Rocks! Heck of a ball team. :thumb:
16thBBall Fan Posted March 10, 2019 Author Posted March 10, 2019 Coach Billy Hicks maybe 14-0 in the first round of the state tournament but his finals record is not so good. I know that is 0-3 in the last 6 years. I'd say a lot of programs would like to have those opportunities but that's not very good.
The Double Deuce Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Really happy for Trinity, congrats to the Rocks on finishing this off! Also, another great season and post-season run for the Cards.
mcpapa Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Congrats to Trinity! Based just off the results and not the eye test, I'm thinking that maybe Campbell County was the second-best team in the whole shebang.
16thBBall Fan Posted March 10, 2019 Author Posted March 10, 2019 Coach Hicks and Scott Co. have now lost two titles to both Covington Catholic and Trinity.
TheDeuce Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Way to go Rocks!!! Bringing the ‘ship back to The Ville!!!
CCHDynasty Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Coach Hicks and Scott Co. have now lost two titles to both Covington Catholic and Trinity. All three of them are tied now.
DragonFire Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Anyone have an idea of when the last time (if ever) a team has lost in consecutive finals?
DevilMayCare Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Congratulations to the Rocks. Trinity owned the fourth quarter, outscoring Scott County 21-7. Both teams were jackin’ up three balls during a crucial stretch in the final frame. Trinity's were falling, Scott County's weren't. There was your separation.
16thBBall Fan Posted March 10, 2019 Author Posted March 10, 2019 In past 22 years Scott Co. is 2-5 in State Championship games. That is pretty impressive to have played in 7 title games in 22 years.
16thBBall Fan Posted March 10, 2019 Author Posted March 10, 2019 I would like to give props to 16th Region official Nathan Sutton for getting 3 games in this years tournament including the state final. Congrats Nathan!
Randy Parker Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 David Johnson had 22 points & 12 boards to lead Trinity. Michael Moreno finished with 12 points & 12 boards to lead Scott County.
DevilMayCare Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Anyone have an idea of when the last time (if ever) a team has lost in consecutive finals? Dunbar lost in the finals in 1993 and 1994.
ACfan4 Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Scott County lacked an elite wing scorer I think and the last 2 years both teams had one with CJ Frederick and David Johnson.
