The colonels tried to let them back in it. How many FT did they miss in the 4th?

As I said in a previous post, it is hard to beat a great team 3 times. The better team won tonight for sure. Congratulations to the Colonels! I will be rooting for you!

Very proud of the Tigers! You brought generations of alumni back to see you play! That hasn’t happened in a long time. Looking forward to seeing you next year.

Are you sure @Beechwoodfan? There was a huge difference in fouls tonight.

(joking of course, in case it isn't obvious)

Beechwood fouled an enormous amount of times tonight, forced the Colonels to earn it from the line, and frankly, the Colonels didn't take advantage. Thing is, Beechwood didn't hit their shots in response either.

Yes, I am sure.

Lol, missed the edit. Can’t believe I missed the humor! My apologies!

How you feel about the Baugh foul on Thelen probably depends on what section of the arena you were sitting in. I'm sure Thelen is happy with the Regional trophy and has already put the whole thing behind him.

Agree to disagree here. If you want to dunk, throw it down. If you don't want it to happen, stand in and stop it. Simple as that.

Did anyone see the end of today's UK game? A Tennessee player went for a game ending dunk and as he dribbled down court the announcer kept saying don't do it. Same thing tonight. Don't do it.

Fair enough. I am happy for CCH that Thelen didn't get hurt. He is clearly their best player.

My thoughts on the game:

1) Nice Crowd both schools had a lot of people there

2) Good idea to move it to Saturday night

3)Cov Cath out played and coached Beechwood tonight. Don’t know why they continued to press

4) Box and 1 on Draud was the difference maker. Really didn’t get the ball much 1st half. Cov Cath started 11-0.

5)Told people before the game hard to beat a team three times.

6) Saw nothing wrong with the Dunk. The issue was after the play. Someone should of received a T.

7) Don’t want to hear anyone bash Joe Frederick! Class Act does a lot for the kids and the school.

8) A lot of fouls Beechwood started fouling 5 minutes to go. Game should of been worse.

One last thing...I have been to MANY BHS/CCH games (mostly football), and have been occasionally offended by some of the cheers/jeers on the part of the CCH student body in the past. Sat pretty close to those guys tonight, and thoroughly enjoyed them. Wish they didn’t have so much to cheer about, but loved the support and energy they brought.

My uneducated hunch is they'll want a separate thread for that game.

Great season Beechwood! I love how the Tigers kept fighting even when it looked hopeless. They came just a 3 pointer or 2 short of getting back into the game. I am proud of Baugh blocking the silly and classless dunk attempt at the end by Thelen. That was not smart by Thelen. If he gets hurt on that, it would have been a sad blow for him and his team at Rupp.

It was truly a historic season for Beechwood. Thank you to a great group of seniors who blazed a trail for future success. The Tigers will keep building. I am very proud of this team's success and excited about the future.

Great season for Beechwood - it was a historic run for them! And congrats to CCH on the redemption for 2 losses!

As for Thelen's dunk attempt, I applaud them both. Baugh did a good job by making sure the loss was not punctuated by that. And Thelen, the tourney MVP, tried to make a statement after loosing 2 to BW.

The game was not over. Starters were all still in. And BW was still fouling.

Shame on you Tiger for calling a high school athlete classless!! It has been an emotional season for both teams and there was still over 2 minutes left in the game ...

Havin a hard time sleeping.

Difficult hurdle for an excellent BW team after an emotional OT win against a tough Cooper squad. CovCath coasted to the finals and had something to prove. The game flow and outcome was predictable. Great season for a super Beechwood team and congrats to CovCath on 9th region ownership!
