UC 30 Rutgers 11

Cincy still didn't get a very good turnout/home crowd, the commentators even mentioned it. Around 27,000 I think.

I was one of those 27,804 in attendance. That is actually the largest crowd at Nippert Stadium all year. Even though I would like to have seen a few thousand more there, it was a very enthusiastic crowd tonight and it made for a gret atmosphere. I am glad to have been a part of UC history!

I was ready to plan a trip with my Dad, but as the OSU/UM game got more and more huge we decided to watch both here at my place. I know I missed a great scene, but all was well at the GT house... :D

Well done, Cincy!

Good win for UC, always fun to see the goal posts come down. :dancingpa

Rice was ShutDOWN tonight.

Apparently Rutgers left their axe in New Jersey...no chopping of any wood tonight

A post from a UC student taken from the Bearcat board I frequent...

I've never been prouder to wear the C-Paw across my chest than I am right now. What an amazing night. It's 1:26am and my hall is still teeming with people celebrating. You'd think we just won the national title. There are about 60 guys on my floor, and only 5 or 6 of us regularly went to games this year. But due to all the hype surrounding tonight, we managed to get nearly all the guys on the floor to go to the game, and now I can safely say that everybody, including myself, an ardent OSU football fan, is a fan of the program Dantonio is building. I remember coming back to my hall after the USF game (our biggest win of the year at that point), and I was pretty excited from what I saw, and hardly anybody in my hall had known we'd even had a game that night. Now? Like I said, the beer and spirit is running high, three hours after the game is over. Walking into the stadium tonight, I heard numerous O-H-I-O chants from fans. Walking out of the stadium, I heard nothing but the OHHHHH UC chant. I truly feel like this is the turning point of the program, and I feel like this win has defined the next decade of UC football. The guys on my floor weren't the only converted fans tonight. As I charged onto the field, exhilarated from the best sports day of my life, I noticed that literally almost the entire stadium was following me. Everybody wanted to be a part of what was probably the proudest moment in UC football history. Everyone in that stadium tonight was screaming their lungs out, jumping up and down, waving black shirts around, and at the end, trying their best to hold back tears of joy. I don't want to sensationalize tonight's win, but anybody who was on that field knows how it felt. I love my Buckeyes, but I can safely say that I'm happier about UC's win than I am about Ohio State's. That says a lot, I think. Anyway, like I said, I think this is a defining moment. I think everybody there tonight became a fan of the program, and I think we will most definitely see a spike in attendance next year. Expectations will be very high around Clifton, and I wouldn't be shocked to see more anticipation for football than basketball next year. The concensus around here was that if UC built a winner, the fans would flock. Well, we've got a winner now, and the fans WILL flock next year. We will more than likely be projected in the top half of the Big East next year, especially if we avoid a letdown in Storrs and we pull out a win in our bowl game. With an easier schedule, and WVU and UL at home, people will expect 8 to 9 wins and a major bowl game. Reasonable expectations, in my opinion.

UC fans, hold your heads high tonight. The limelight is on us. Savor the moment, because the win tonight was nothing short of historic.

I'd heard for years about how UC was a hotbed waiting to happen for college football. A beautiful stadium, exciting environment, etc......I think tonight might have catapulted our way into realizing our potential.

Go Cats. It truly is a great night to be a Bearcat.

^^^Great post and HUGE win for UC...Congrats.

Just a quick stat. UC sits at 6-5 with games @OSU, @Va Tech, @ UL, @ WVU, Pitt and Rutgers. They were only 1-5, but they played right with every one of them, and did so (for the most part) with national coverage. If this team starts to own Cincinnati recruiting, watch out...

I think UC may also get a little stronger in recruiting in NKY. Nice to see a couple of NKY boys ( 57 and 86 ) out there. Great win.

Congrats to the Bearcats and their supporters -- that is a landmark win.

Great win for UC. Defense really played well.

What about #19???????:D

What about #19???????:D

Didn't forget 19 just talking about the ones playing. Hopefully some will follow in 19's footsteps.

I almost went, and had I remembered it earlier I would have. They straight dominated Rutgers.

Great win for UC !!!! Keep up the great work. Thanks from all Card fans. The Big East season this year was unbelievably competitive. With 4 of the 8 teams having a win over atleast one nationally ranked team.

With 2 weeks to go the BE still has 3 of our 8 teams in position to go to a BCS game and 6 teams that are bowl eligible.
