I hope they do. They need it.

Except if you watch the video he's the one that walks up and approaches them.

Punish those kids? Sure, but don't act like the entire group on the trip was doing it, which is exactly what people on here are doing.

 

The general tone of the letters is that the group is totally innocent, and that isn't true.

 

I also believe Mr. Phillips initiated the confrontation. He clearly moved to where they were, but some of the students also clearly derided him.

Some serious cyber bullying happening right now. Talk to any NKY sports photographer who has posted pictures on fb of sporting events that include Cov Cath players. Nasty comments are being written on their fb pages.

Nobody should in anyway justify the behavior of the student mob....its despicable, there is no defense. Just as people should not overlook an adult obviously trying to instigate a mob of kids. Two wrongs...both wrong. What the students do is more egregious, but don't excuse the other because of it.

As to the chaperones, I can't imagine how adults could sit idly by as a group of teenagers surround an individual or two. Some serious neglect on their part if you ask me.

Some reports say that he was trying to diffuse the situation between the CCH group and the group of African Americans by playing his song. Was apparently a song to reduce the toxicity of man.

He claims they mocked him and that one student threw something at him. But I couldn't find out how that story ended up, or if the students were punished.

Probably my most unpopular opinion is that protests, whether peaceful or not, are largely a waste of time. I have found that they tend to create more divisions and less solutions.
