This one is shaping up to be a dandy at the Hank this friday... I think Russell in order to win will have to pass the ball some but Tyler Jones has proved that he can sufficiently pass the devils to a victory if needed but I think with the sucess of the pass will open up Kasey once that happens watch out!!! Corbin will try to put everybody in the box to defend the run BUT NOT SO FAST MY FIND they can't forget Tyler Jones who will have yet another big game for the devils if this is the case..... The Devils home winning streak is kept safe for another year!!

I just don't see this one being close. Corbin seems too banged up and the game is AT Russell. Russell wins 35-12.

The same Corbin team that lost at home to an awful Oldham County team. I don't have to tell a Belfry fan how tough it is to play at Russell either. Just a gut instinct here.

I agree that is that is tough to play in Flatwoods, but the matchups make me believe it will be a competitive game, and NOT a blowout.

 

If Russell blows Corbin away, then Mercer Co. IMO is not the favorite!

Even district hosts in even year. If both are even then higher number hosts in even years. Unless I am reading it wrong this is how I think it is.

 

Coldweather - Couple of corrections, Corbin is D4, Russell is D6. You are right about the set up, but a teams district numbers are only used up to the 3rd game of the playoffs, that is why Russell is hosting this week, since both are even but 6 obviously higher than 4. But when it gets to semi-state they go by region number and since Corbin and Russell are in Region 3, Region's 2 and 4 will host because of the even calendar year

It may be funny but many have tried it. (Fleming, Ashland, Boyd, O Cath, Mercer, Newport) Just to name a few that have applied that very strategy over the last couple of years.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I thought they had done away with regions and were going by districts only. Region doesn't seem to mean much, when you're not doing them geographically.
