Oh trust me, I know how McGlone saves him. If he played as much as other players, he'd have over 2,000 yards this year. I was just pointing out that he didn't have a huge day with averaging less than 4 yards/carry. I'm a Russell fan and am not knocking him. I don't think Russell can get away with giving him the ball less than 15 times against Corbin. Kasey has great hands and I would like to see him used more in the passing game with the exact play that they ran against Fleming. He was all by himself on the short pass and with his running skills, he can turn those into 20 yard plays or more. I don't want Russell to get to much away from the bread and butter, but I love those short passing plays to the RB.

Russell is probably a little bigger on both sides of the line. Corbin averages approximately 245 lbs. on the offensive line and 235 on the defensive side.

Does Corbin have a website? It would be nice to get a look at their roster.

Corbin looks to be pretty balanced offensively. On defense are they better against the run or against the pass?

The defensive scheme used by Corbin is better against the run.

The run defense is pretty solid when we tackle correctly. Had trouble defending the pass at times. Middlesboro made us look like a joke, but there have been flashes of excellence out of this defense (Rockcastle couldn't score on them) This isn't the best (or most experienced) Corbin team we have put in the playoffs, but they do play hard and hugary, the offense with Cashen at QB is good enough to keep us in games when Coach Farris gets some execution (Blocking) up front. It will be interesting to see what happens. Russell looks BIG up front.

Russell BIG. Another disapointing season for Corbin.

I would not say that ....A few plays and we are possibly a 10 -2 team ..

Offense - 3 sophomores, 7 juniors & 1 senior.

Defense - 2 sophomores, 6 juniors & 3 seniors.

I went to Huntington the night we played Garrard in the first round and it took me about 3 hours and 15 minutes to get there. I would say it is about 2 hours and 10 minute from Winchester. I'll say this much though, if ya make the trip, watch out for those deer around Ft. Boonesborough. I had one run right out in front of my truck on my way home. We saw about 3 more on the side of the road other than the one I hit. With that said, I'm going to try and fall back asleep so I can go kill me one without messing up my truck in about 4 hours.

I didn't know you hit a deer...did you cut out the backstraps and head on down the road??

I think Corbin has a great chance. A defense has to be extremely well schooled when playing against the wing-t. Corbin will have to play mistake-free defensive football to beat this offense. It relys on misdirection so assignments have to be carried out, but at the same time stunts can throw off the timing of the pulling guards, and the misdirection type plays which will blow up the plays in the backfield...so IF Corbin does not allow busted plays to go for big yardage, and can hold Russell to around 100-125 yards rushing the Houds win. I have no problem playing aggressive run-stopping defense against the Red Devils, they are a running team that can throw some. But the fact remains that they do not have an air-raid offense. Now do you load the box with 8-10 guys...no. You simply fly around to the football, and play Redhound defense.

I like Corbin 24-16...IF the defense shows up...it is their's to lose.

Pulling for a M'boro/Corbin rematch...

Corbin 28

Russell 21

Good Luck Hounds!:thumb:

When Corbin comes ready to play they can match up with the best of them. It should be a great game on Friday. Corbin Board has authorized a half day for all schools so the fans will have plenty of time to get there to cheer the team on to victory!! GO HOUNDS!!!:thumb:

Its not "air raid" but Russell's offense may be a bit more well rounded than you suspect.

Exactly...my point is they are in fact run first, pass second type of team. The goal of any coach is to take the opposition out of their comfort zone thus one must focus on taking away the run first and take away, in this case Russell's, primary offense. Anytime a team has to go to what they like to do less...i.e. throw the football as opposed to running it they tend to have less success. For instance if a team could force the colts to run the football they would have a greater chance of winning than allowing Peyton Manning to throw for 300 yards in the game.
