Based on population, one would think that Shelby, Oldham, and Bullitt would also produce very skilled teams if each county merged their high schools, no?

 

Shelby County only had 1 HS until relatively recently and they didn't end up with many titles. I think there was maybe 1 in the 80s.

I can see that point being made. However the three Oldhams would've had a chance to beat CovCath this year, IMO. That's my hot take of the year, lol

I would say that Pike County would be hard to handle, there is some good football being played there, plus adding in athletes from schools that have had lesser success

 

Perry County would be tough too combining PCC and Hazard

 

Greenup County would have some success as well (Raceland, Russell and Greenup Co.) something like 180 kids playing football in a relatively low population county

 

I dont know that Boyd Co would be much better than Ashland already is tho

McCracken County and Christian County would be loaded with talent. But like everyone has said it’s a numbers game so the most populous counties would be the best most the time.

Pretty sure it was 87. Beat a Boone County team in the finals they had lost to pretty handily in the regular season.

I’d love to see Tilghman’s athletes at McCracken with McCracken’s facilities and coaching. That’d be a tough team.

Yeah, this is really a conversation for who is second best.

Kenton County would MAYBE be able to keep it from going to a running clock against JC. Everyone else would be clocked before halftime.

Christian County would be a sneaky good one in most sports. I had heard talk a few years back when there was talk of this after McCracken County was started. Anyone heard anything on this lately?
