Let's say no, but given the size disparity in Jefferson County's population compared to everyone else it wouldn't really matter. I mean we are look at around 26 or so high schools combining into one. That school by itself would be more populous than most counties in KY.

This is tough.

 

In any given year a particular county could make a claim, but over the long haul, a few counties would continue to be at the top of the list. The OP asked "who would win" and so I looked at it as a strength ranking, each team beaing able to win against the team below them.

 

Given that parameter, my top ten would be

 

1. Jefferson

2. Campbell

3. Kenton

4. Warren

5. Boyle

6. Graves

7. Pike

8. Johnson

9. Daviess

10. Pulaski

 

I really struggled with 2-5. Either of those 4 could make a claim against the others, and would likely have cycles at the top.

I like ATL’s top five, but I would flip Warren and Campbell.

I think that Boone County (Ryle, Cooper, Conner, Boone, and Walton-Verona) and Fayette County are being undervalued in this thread.

Campbell county doesn’t have 2 teams in Northern Kentucky top 5. Kenton has 3. No way would they be better.

You can’t really look at this on a team to team basis. You would have to break it down position by position if the teams would be combined. Look at QBs in Kenton County alone. You have a few guys that can flat out play but they all can’t play at the same time.

I’ve given this thought about having a county mega team. It would be interesting in ways but would take a lot of fun out of things too. Eventually, I do think that we will see more County schools depending on the struggles with various independent schools across the state.

Scott County only has one team (until next season at least) but should probably be in at least the top ten conversation.
