Tough to beat Scott County twice. Frederick Douglass despite losing had a great season.

 

I completely agree and FD is in its second season, which is just as, if not more impressive.

Not sure why everyone has over looked SC.

I was at the game in person. Scott did an excellent job of controlling the game. They won the time of possession by 12 minutes. They also ran 7 more plays from scrimmage as well. However the Broncos had 17 more total yards. Was primed for about a 25 yard FG for the win but the Cardinals D got a big sack that took Douglass out of FG range and on a 4th and I think 21 came up one yard shot. Congrats to Scott Co. It’s sad that this game could not have been in the state semifinals because these two are definitely the class of the lower part of the 6A bracket.

I know Scott County wasn't favored in this game but at the beginning of the season they were a favored team in 6A. Good teams find a way to win.

Scott Co. was lead in rushing by Austin Barrett with 164 yards on 30 carries and Bronson Brown with 124 yards on 18 carries. Douglass was lead by Fishback with 177 yards on only 14 carries and QB Cameron Jones who was 19-28 for 180 yards.

What is everyone’s opinion watching on that two point conversion attempt? Regardless, Scott County definitely came to play tonight. What a game!

 

Thought it was a dumb move! Your at home kick the xp! But if they make it everyone says good move!

Biggest upset in the state, right?

 

Not a shocker but the only game I would call clearly a bigger upset would be Murray over Owensboro Catholic. Owensboro over Bowling Green is similar to this one as far being a surprise to some. Williamsburg over Hazard is another one that is a surprise. But, this game is right there in the discussion for upset of the night.

Still the king, that is laughable. They lost to two Lexington schools this year, and in 2015 and 16 lost to Lafayette in the playoffs. So they are not kings, they just happen to get past Lexington in the playoffs the last two years.

Who cares about who they lost to, Scott County is still playing and the other two Lexington schools are not. Great seson to both those Lexington schools though.

Come on Teddy, Scott County has been the King outside of Jefferson County for some time. In fact, they are the only non-Jefferson County (Tipping hat to Simon Kenton) 6A schools to do anything, in how long?

It's never a bad idea if you have a play that you really feel will work and have worked on it in practice. If you are decisive and get the play in quickly the kids will feel better about running it and their ability to execute it.

You’ve got a 6’8” QB that is a pretty good load. I can see the thinking of you like your chances even he is covered to throw a jump ball. You feel you get it and Scott Co has a hard time driving to get into field goal range. Maybe they didn’t like the idea of trying to match blows starting at the ten and extending the game. They hadn’t had to play a full game all year. FD had been stealing points all year on 2 pt conversions in different ways. I am surprised they didn’t try to get Fishback the ball more at the end. The holding call on the TD obviously hurt and you can’t take a sack in that spot. Through out the game FD came up just short on a few plays that could of been big. It was on beck of a game either way.
