It was a great game. Douglass actually drove back down the field and was inside the 20 and in field goal range but Scott County ‘s defense came up with a huge sack on third down that took Douglass out of FG range.

This, although I'd personally had them behind Male and St. Xavier for most of the last half of the season. Their best win, beyond the first game with Scott County (which looks better now than it did then), was over a good-not-great Conner team while Male had four wins (Trinity, Butler, North Hardin, Ballard) and St. Xavier had four wins (Male, Trinity, Central, and Butler) that I thought were better than Douglass' win over Conner.

 

Bottom line, I think a lot of folks fell in love with the record of the lone undefeated team in 6A and failed to recognize the unique nature of some of the losses of other top level 6A clubs. Just my opinion.

Could not agree more. But they did beat Scott when many were touting the cardinals as The Team in 6A. Didn't they just come off the big Moellar win.

True. Bottom line, 6A was just hard to get a read on this season.
