Does YouTubeTV have any DVR. I know on Hulu you get like 50 hours or something like that. I just setup to have my Direct Tv canceled.

I just upgraded to an Apple TV 4K but like you mentioned it isn't always user friendly. Sometimes it feels like the Net back in the late 90s trying to get all your ducks in a row.

I dropped Sling in favor of Play Station Vue, last year. Mainly because of the performance problems. I don't know what arrangement Sling had with ESPN, but when I had Sling, I got better performance from the ESPN app than Sling.

 

PSVue has been great. I watch very little TV. Mrs. S watches a ton of TV, she's binge watching Riverdale at the moment. We also have Netflix, Hulu (Basic), and Amazon Prime. With all those services, we pay less than half of what we did with Directv and no loss of signal during a heavy rain. We don't miss it at all.

 

I did a trial of YouTube. It was OK, but I prefer PSV. YouTube had all the local channels and you have to pay for sports packages, just like other services. PSV has our local channels except our Fox affiliate. However, I have an antenna and don't need local channel coverage. Even DTV and fiber can't beat the picture from an antenna feed.

I just got rid of Directv and switched to PlayStation Vue about two weeks ago. I love it. It has all the channels I would want to watch for $49.99/month, including the NFL Network. If I was still playing fantasy football I could add RedZone for $10 more but I have no need for it.

 

It's nice that as I sit here at work I can pull up the website on my computer or the app on my phone and watch live TV.

Not sure if I can add apps. There are a bunch already on it. YouTube is one, but I don’t know if you can get to YouTube tv from there or if it’s a separate app.

I looked into the discovery suite of programs (hgtv, etc) and to watch them on the internet, you have to have a cable or satellite account. That stinks if you are trying to cut the cord from spectrum......why are they in the bed of cable?

Because they are getting a piece of your cable subscription.

Ps vue has the discovery, hgtv, etc channels.....! May have to try it out and then see what will happen to my spectrum bill if I dump their triple play plan and go with just internet or internet/home phone. The other thing that may a cord cutting killer is the speed of my internet. My current plan says “up to 100mbps”. Last I tested it is more like 80mbps. Running 2 TVs with Roku through WiFi and then 2 computers or iPads all at the same time may tax the WiFi.
