October 30, 200619 yr Best ever? He isn't even the best current QB in the NFL. I'll take Tom Brady over Peyton Manning any day of the week, but especially on Sundays. And especially in January, when it matters most!
October 30, 200619 yr He hasn't done anything that Dan Marino didn't do before. Marino used to stand in the pocket until it was gone, then he's throw a bullet 30 yards down field. IMO Manning is the 2nd best QB to not have a SB victory.
October 30, 200619 yr Manning will be considered one of the best to ever play. What I like about Manning is the way he approaches the game. He eats,sleeps & drinks football. Elway is at the top of my list with Johnny U close behind.
October 30, 200619 yr No, but when the playoffs come, I'd much rather have Ben. He's great at piling up the numbers. I'd never dream of taking that away from him. In that regard, he's just like when he was the QB at Tennessee. Funny how they won a national title after he left … Great all-time? Nah. Well I know Ben has a ring, but I wouldn't be to sure about taking him in the playoffs either. I mean he has not really played his best games at all in the playoffs. He just has had other players around him that were able to make plays to help them get the wins. I mean in the super bowl he had the lowest passing rating ever for a winning QB. So its not like he is doing that good, its just that the Steelers had an all together better team than Manning and the Colts...
October 30, 200619 yr What do you think? It's sick how calm collected and clutch he is. They have a nice mix of the run and pass again with Rhodes and Addai. He is very calm and clutch in the regular season, but that all seems to go away in the playoffs. And that is where being clutch really matters... I do not think he will be the best of all time. I dont think he will ever get a superbowl ring. As I said before I think Eli would get one before Peyton ever does. But even if Peyton does win a super bowl, I still would have to take Joe Montana as the best QB ever...

Also, it seems that he doesn't make any adjustments come playoff time, thinking that what worked in the regular season will obviously work in the postseason. And, he's a choker.
October 31, 200619 yr This is one of the more difficult questions in all of sports, imo. I am personally a John Elway guy... but arguments could be made for Montana, Unitas, et al. Seems to me that you are either an Elway or a Montana guy. I personally like Elway better.
